Another one for our Top Ten Cat Gadgets? Ruan Hao’s CATable could only be the invention of a severely Stockholm Syndrome-impaired cat owner. Designed as a desperate ploy to convince your cat that there’s somewhere more interesting to be than on top of your laptop right now, there is only one possible reaction I can imagine from the world’s feline population: utter disdain.





Nice guys finish last, especially when they own cats. Chinese designer Ruan Hao sounds like a really nice guy. Exactly the kind of guy a cat would take advantage of at every opportunity. Listen to him describe his CATable invention in his own, charming words:

People who live with cats always have these kind of experiences.

1. Putting away the cat from your laptop is like a sentimental ritual of temporary farewell.

2. A proper sized hole could be so irresistible to cats. Their curiosity would be greatly satisfied through repetitively exploring the unknown path behind the hole.

The design of CATable was a fusion of those experiences, as well a locus where the interaction occurs. It is a table for us, and a paradise for cats.

The poor, sweet, battered soul. Does he not understand? Buy a cat an expensive toy, and it will take great delight in playing with the box, and show nothing but contempt for the toy itself. I could never get to my homework when I was a kid because there was always Tomas my cat sitting on top of the pile of books or paper, every single time.

 

Actually i don't even own a cat but i did it as a kind manner, for guys like SillySausage, OneReason or THISISTHEEND. I thought maybe they(and many others) might find this post interesting...
