Logic Pro 11 - Rosetta Mode Issue

Discussion in 'Logic' started by Vincent Price, May 15, 2024.

  1. Hello

Is anyone else having issues with Logic Pro 11 when trying to open with Rosetta mode enabled?

With it not enabled, it opens fine, however when I tell Logic Pro to open with Rosetta mode enabled, it bounces for five minutes, then stops and just sits in the dock.

I need to get it to open with rosetta mode enabled, as I have synth master on my Mac and it won't validate properly without launching Logic Pro in Rosetta mode.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks

Do you need Logic open in Rosetta, or do you need the individual plugin opened in Rosetta?

Also, try using Blue Cat Patchwork in Logic or as standalone application loaded in Rosetta.

  4. In order for the plugin to be validated properly I have to open Logic in Rosetta mode to get it to validate within the plugin-manager

Am I able to go into my components folder within audio plugins and tell synth master to open with Rosetta?

You could try to remove the arm64 binary from the component with the lipo command: https://ss64.com/mac/lipo.html

I did that with the AU of Serum, because only the Intel part is cr*cked properly. So Logic running in native mode will open the plugin with Rosetta, because there is no arm64 code in it.

I would try BlueCats Patchwork as a standalone app first, unless you know you can add back the files stripped using lipo command. If not, you will have to do an extra reinstall; but that's not exactly a big deal.

Have you gotten SynthMaster to work previously? Or are you just adding it? I would move it out of /components and try opening Logic again to see if it is crashing.

You probably have noticed, but sometimes when you have a plugin with a problem, go into plugin manager and you will see another plugin or two listed as crashing validation or Couldn't be Opened.
It will be a few consecutive plugins in your list.

When you do Reset and Rescan Selected in the plugin manager on each of them selected individually, it will successfully validate all but the problem plugin. Basically, it misreports what it may have crashed on.

Normally if that problem does happen, it's almost always because the plugin is not Codesigned correctly.

Just make a copy of the .component file so you can put it back, no need to reinstall.
