although beyond scope of this audio forum, this video on topic of AI For Uses In Science has some noteworthy points, such as:

is the AI able to do something original and creative?
that's actually very trivial to do something original and creative, you just pick a bunch of random numbers, that sequence of random numbers is very unexpected, creative, original whatever...
problem is, that the typical sequence of random numbers nobody cares about...

 

using random functions as well as endless repetitions are the opposite of creativity.

compared to those, what AI does, is far more close to how composing music works.

 

AI is classified in genre category. I mean that AI is not going to replace someone or something else.

When techno music wanted to emerge, many thought that techno was the end of music, but over time, it became a genre along with other music genres.

AI is the same. In a few years, when AI is out of trends, it will become a separate genre.

AI is not able to discover. It can be a creator, but he cannot discover something new. AI is based on previous data and combining them in a short time, which is not possible for many people. AI depends on the power of artistic understanding of its creators and because the creators of AI are mostly from the field of computers and calculations and do not have much time to study art and understand its subtleties, the things they produce are just filling the space. And they do not have much artistic or any value.

how many albums or downloads does an AI purchase in a lifetime? What would the net revenue be per AI on the internet? Will AI creators spawn little Ai's that will also become consumer of musical goods, instruments and equipment. Will this cause the AI boom of the 2020's with economic freedom and wealth for everyone? or will AI just destroy economic models and increase unemployment and poverty.....

 

It's just to play with for social media BS. IMO

 

AI develops new theses, develops new substances and compounds, plans experiments, carries out experiments, analyses the results and writes papers.

Uhh... well... no, AI doesn't develop anything new. *irony off

BTW techno is just a new composition of old patterns. Following your logic, techno was never anything new anyway, right?

 

Ai will become a weapon, all technology becomes a weapon. By using AI you are training a weapon that will be used against you.
you are digging your own graves. You cannot see beyond the pale light of your cell phone, your whole world is in your hand, you can't think outside of that cell phone or laptop, you cannot see beyond the gimmick dangled before you. "The Next Big Thing"

You cannot extrapolate your own doom from the poison seeds placed in your hands. And that is where the problem lies, the conceit of humanity will welcome the Trojan horse into the courtyard and marvel at the new toy that brings its demise.

 

i just wonder if AI WILL BE IMPLEMENTED INTO HARDWARE soon.. into guitars.. into synths.. into drum kits.. making it possible to create by ai itself..

Its mostly marketing as far as what we see in the public domain, news, websites etc. PR to spin the positives, while the weapons are never mentioned. The us air force had the launch codes for nuclear weapons set to "00000" for decades cause it was easy to remember. This is the mentality that will soon be using an intellect that is artificial and self learning, what could possibly go wrong?

 

with the death of curiousity and creativity caused by the internet's instant sharing making imagination still born in the palm of the iphone user, I'm sure it would be heartily pursued and created, and then a generation of zombies will watch their instruments play themselves and never learn music or composition and then bitch about the death of "New" music.

I've watched as high end technology has filtered down from the professional market, the wall off areas that required hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars to access. Things like movie making, and audio recording as well as digital effects both audio and video, and as more people have the ability to access these areas, the products do not seem to be higher in volume or higher in imagination, rather they are all bent to petty indulgence, like clicks on youtube etc.

its disturbing how much time young women spend seeking attention on the internet via technology. Its like God gave us the ability to split the Atom and all we do is boil water with it, ohhhh wait....
