We all have to eat. Preferably fresh & healthy. But sometimes it has to be quick and I don't have time to cook fresh, so it's time for instant ramen! Yay!

My favorite is Samyang Buldak Habanero Lime. It's the perfect combination of Korean and Mexican. Lol.

I always have pre-portioned, marinated, sliced chicken breast strips in the freezer, which I add to the pot when cooking ramen noodles. The marinade consists of peanut butter, curry powder, sweet paprika powder, cumin, brown cane sugar, chicken stock, chili flakes, dark soy sauce, hon mirin and rice vinegar.

When the ramen is in the bowl, I add some sliced green onion and fresh lime juice. Yummi!

    My favorite 5-minute dish.

    What are your favorite ramen?

    :thanks:

Not a fan of ramen, but your chicken sounds great.

Used to love cup noodles way back when (2015ish?) but they have since changed their recipe and it tastes like dogwater now.

    I quite like Maruchan

I think the MSG just makes the salt more apparent to the taste buds, but salty is one of the main sections of tastebuds on the tongue because its needed for survival, so of course putting salt in food will make it more desirable by the palate.

The main thing is, try to eat a lot of different things, and the japanese model is, lots of different things in small portions in the same meal and then only eat until you are 75-80% full. also pickles are quite popular..

I have 2 cases of instant Ramen in my garage for barter when the currencies are destroyed. I figure it will be more valuable than gold.
and if not I can still eat it.. few investments have these range of options available to the low level investor....

I've always got some in the cupboard for the times when I just need something to eat, but not really hungry. Tasty enough and then some.

Faves: First a true classic el cheapo: MAMA's Tom Yam, then Soba Teriyaki Ramen, Samyang Buldak 2x Spicy, and finally perhaps my favourite of them all: Nongshim Shin Ramyun Hot & Spicy.

Spicy noodles are perfect for those flu and cold filled days when you're just clogged, the chili really puts the "juices flowing" so to speak. Also slightly damp cold noodles egg fried with meat and/or veg.

    Mmm... good shit.

    Yes, about 1500 mg sodium.
Which is the max recommended daily amount. But:
    1. this corresponds to about one teaspoon of table salt, which is hidden in this amount in many dishes.
    2. always throw away the pasta water and use separate clear water for the broth/sauce.

Lol. Exactly. The ramen is to blame. It's not a lack of exercise, too little potassium, too much salt, too much coffee, too little water, genetic predisposition, etc. No, the ramen is to blame. Monocausal.
    * irony off

As someone who doesn't eat the meats - I love Nonghim's Veggie Noodles. Also, a great hangover food.
