I have come across several sites that claim this is an actual thing. Some even had links, (dead, of course!),
to download it. So does anyone know if there's any truth to this rumour?

Huh? That shop has Spectrasonics Full Bundle Mac for 35 UK pound and links to AudioFilesShop by Pavel Melotík. I could find no link to Tyros 4 VST anywhere.

 

While Tyros wouldn't make much sense as a VST, there's a VST version of the Montage M:

Looks like it. An entire network is there, but I don't want to spread rumors and asked Yamaha what this about with links and where to buy the plugin. Stay tuned.

 

I found a facebook page mentioning it as well but the text was apparently copied from the music gateway page.
I found a few other links that claimed to have downloads of it but they were wayyyyyyyy too sketchy looking to
mess with. I've used a few other arranger softs on live solo acoustic gigs....driving them with a Fishman Triple
Play. Varranger, BIAB, One Man Band etc....but a full blown Tyros VST would be cool. I've already got lots of styles
for it but the hardwre is above my pay grade plus it would be a real PITA to lug around to gigs. I was aware of the
Montage soft.....but have yet to see it released in the wild.

Maybe I just need to dust off my old Roland RA-800. The floppy drive crapped out. I got one of those GOTEK floppy
emulators.....but need to figure out how to configure the pinouts. I got one unprogrammed for about $30. Or, if
I was rich and lazy I would have bought one pre-configured from our old pal Dimitar Nalbantov for a mere $300...LOL!!

 

Just got an answer from Yamaha UK.

A: Yamaha have never produced a VST version of any of the Tyros range of Digital Workstations so this website is advertising a product that does not exist. I am sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

Oh and those audiowarez shops might be in trouble.

Never knew about this, it certainly looks great and the demos on youtube sound really good.

 

If you want a GM VST sound module, you can try Roland Sound Canvas or Sonic Cat Purity

 

Either real or myth, it doesn't really matter.

Let's wait for the vst version of the Montage, way more interesting.
