i strongly recommend the finalizer for mastering... anyone else tried this software?

And in fact, people today strive more for the illusion of having produced something great than actually creating it.

I think I peeked at the software version a few years ago and walked away not being too impressed, especially with all the other options out there that one can mix and match etc.... the 1996 hardware brought something, but was a little overused sometimes, and also iirc, this plugin doesn't really have any m/s etc...

I'm sure it's fine for a "quicky" mastering job to output for a client or something, but at least imho, I wouldn't use it over the other stuff I have used in mastering chains...

the plug-ins are more or less a recreation of their digital hardware, which is about 25 years old, and even back then could not stand the competition against expensive analog gear.

(where the price is of course an argument.)

however, among software, i would also prefer such classic and simple structured processors, which just do the things like from a textbook, and not this pseudomodern KI nonsense from vendors where you can not even be sure if they get the basics right.

finalizer ist not revolutionary, it is rather outdated, but it absolutely does the job.

p.s. i still have powercores around and installed and also had some of their outboard effects.
