Huh, old ads look interesting, and it's more exciting to think about how the ads have changed since then.

 

It seems like those old commercials are pretty elusive! But if you're still on the hunt, here's a trick I used: I checked out some old music magazines from the 80s. They often had ads for new keyboards, and sometimes they even included demo videos or links to where you could find them.
Oh, and about boosting traffic, have you ever heard of organic traffic bots? They can really help get your content out there. They can be a great way to get more eyes on your stuff from people who are actually interested.

you used to be able to buy "synths" at walmart and K-mart and of course "the Mall". but of course those were the low end casio and yamahas. You had to meet a guy in an alley at 2am and bring a bottle of whiskey to try out any of the top end stuff. And if you wanted a Fairlight your parents would have you committed for a "mental health" checkup...

I remember my 1st midi interface and learning to cable my keyboard to my Amiga and when I finally got it to play something, I thouhgt it was the shittttttttttttt. man...

Thomas Dolby's autobiography has an interesting tale of him finding a synth in a skip, and getting it working - Recommended reading material if you like music and that sort of stuff.

Schaefer Beer was horrible beer but always tasted better at a Met game at Shea Stadium. A Moog is a great synth.

 

and of course the Atari ST, Mike Pinder from the Moody Blues jumps us into the future of music production on computers of all things..
what will they think of next - Mike worked in the Mellotron factory before he joined the Moody Blues, so he knew how to make one sound quite nice.

which eventually became this surf music by the T-Bones - reminds me a little of a b52s instrumental or two... background on this version:
This song is based on an Alka-Seltzer commercial & was recorded by The Wrecking Crew under the name of The T- Bones in December 1965. A performing band of T- Bones was put together to tour after the success of this song. No. 1 Canada, No. 3 US. All credit goes to The T- Bones. So that might be Glenn Campbell on guitar and Leon Russell on piano or keyboards since they were in the Wrecking Crew around that time out in los angeles studios..

Somehow I missed the release of that autobiography Garamondo Furbish, thanks for the reminder, and I just got it for my Kindle and move it up the queue of my TO READ list.. I'm a big fan of Thomas Dolby, and he's such a smart guy and talented, I'm very much looking forward to reading it.. thanks!
