Stekker and PotenzaDSP have created the Amigo Sampler for true old-school sampling purists. Using the old Commodore Amiga system as a reference point, the Amigo can down sample any WAV, AIFF, or MP3 file with its 8-bit 22 kHz engine.

I can still Noisetracker in UAE as well... I wonder if this plugin is worth it instead of you know, degrading to 28kHz 8-bit myself... I wonder if it does the Paula filtering as well.

True, but it wouldn't be the first time I bought a plugin with no demo just because the sys requirements checked out, only to have it not work on my computer and told that "all sales are final".

At least for me, its more a matter of principle. They can't just assume it's going to work for *everyone* (provided the sys reqs are covered) or that their support can resolve all issues (at which point one would hope they give a refund, no matter the initial cost).

I end up buying everything I use these days, but only because I firmly believe in the motto "try before buy".

 

You have a potatoe computer? Are you running debian 32 bit? All major operating systems are supported. I am curious now why you think it wont work for your "sys requirements"

Edit: I am having tons of fun with this plugin. Best plugin I have ever bought in years.

 

As I said, it's more a matter of principle. In my example case it was because I did not have a Metal GPU, which was listed nowhere in the requirements, despite everything else checking out. I'm sure that's not the case with the retro gfx on this plugin lol but, again, principle.

For only $10 ($13 after conversion) and plenty of videos showing how to use it, man there sure are a lot of petty cheap ass people around here heh.

 

Who's being cheap? I already gave my reasoning; did it really come across as "petty cheap ass"?
(If you want petty, it would actually be $17.71CAD after conversion for me).

 

It's a fun little tool, worth every penny, a no brainer, I ended up making 3 tracks in the same day using it exclusively, if you guys wanna check:

 

i bought it too. the 10$ is a great price. people complaining here, just go buy it lol. support independent devs doing cool stuff. just skip one beer next time your out.

 

I'm still on the fence regarding about this, but you know, while I respect the authors release and their very reasonable price it's still too light on details (among other things) for me to drive-by plugin purchases... too many of those already.

As an aside, I was talking about this and the Amiga sound in general and learnt about this: https://github.com/astriiddev/Ami-Sampler-VST , and all things considered, all interest of Amiga is all good. Now waiting for somebody to port Noise/ProTracker/octaMED to a plugin, with all of the original effect goodness... well, one can hope.

Yeah, I know these, I use the recreated FT2 a bit, mainly when I need to indulge myself in some nostalgia (best PC tracker ever, I'm in the FT2 camp).

But I'd like to get one in as a plugin, you know, have the tick rate synced, then the FX, the original tuning tables of Noisetracker, the wonky slides... that sorta thing.
