Yes. Everything in overdose is a poison.
Plus those ciggarettes are far away from the pure plants.
When used in ceremonial once in a while probably really helps to clean some bad stuff from you.
It is like some kind of hardcore inhalation lol
But what is good for some people in one culture it necessarily isn't good for someone from opposite side of the world! :guru:
We eat different, breath different air and live in other way than those people.

    I smoked from 1980 until 2020, so 40 years.
I "quit" a couple of times for a month or less.
Then in 2014 I quite for 6 months when I visited my girlfriend (Now my wife for 3 years) in the Philippines.
I returned to the US to care for parents, and immediately began smoking again.
I was able to finally make a permanent move to the Philippines in Jan 2020 and stopped smoking again, so it's been over 4 years and I almost never even think about it, and have never been tempted, although I sold cigarettes to others operating our convenience store.

One might think it takes a lot of "willpower" to quit, but I found it takes NO willpower.
I believe it is due to a different environment in which my brain did not know what to "do", or how to "be" in this situation.
I noticed a dropping away of many habits and ways of thinking on my first visit, and in some ways I was like I was at 16.
Many old habits and ways of thinking returned over some time, but not any urge to smoke.
I think that is due to lack of triggering, and that if I ONCE took one drag on a cigarette, it would trigger that machine of addiction.

This idea seems reflected in treatments for substance abuse and even in legal code for probation, in that one is not allowed to have contact with prior associates.
If you want to change someone, put them in a different environment...but you might need to KEEP them there
Some are able to do it via "brainwashing" themselves with meditation ,etc, or even hypnosis for a start.
But it is easiest to do in the way I lucked into.

Smoked on and off for years, quit 6 years ago then started again a few months ago because I realised why I loved it in the first place....nicotine focuses the mind like nothing else. For music production its literally a tool to get hyper-focused and get work finished. I suspect I have un-diagnosed attention issues and nicotine really helps. Unfortunately I've had to quit again because I can't afford it and now my production output has halved.

Cheers. I do appreciate the well wishes, and I'll take any prayers, regardless if you are religious or not. Its the positivity that goes a long way. The more people getting behind a cause with that sort of vibe, can only be a good thing, regardless of one's belief's.
Thank you sincerely for your backing.

    Peace!

If you like smoking, a good way to feel less "sick" is trying to get some other healthy habits, as exercise, quit sugar, processed food, alcohol and other drugs, etc. It's not a matter of the damage, because everything can be a harm in some way. But choosing how you want to damage your health is better than not giving a fuck about it or getting anxious trying to live a "healthy life" by quiting everthing that can be a potential harm.

In response to various mentions of "cleansing" and "detox" treatments:
SORRY, NOPE, NOTHING WORKS, QUACKERY, SCAM, WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME, BULLSHIT, etc.

Yes there are medical procedures to actually detoxify, and the body has its own methods (liver, kidneys, etc) but so far I can find no PRODUCT being sold that has any decent evidence of detoxing or cleansing, and in most markets these days are not allowed to make medical claims.

They say things like "enhance your body's natural processes to...." or make deceitful references to legit facts (half-truths & vague correlations and pseudoscience).
It is called "alternative medicine" because it is not REAL medicine (with enough evidence to be accepted by most well-trained people).

Don't confuse "alternative" music with "alternative" medicine.
Your life may depend on it.
Coldplay won't kill you. (At least not right away.)

Never smoked I had a life long career in Music, when I was young I played in clubs and bars 4 nights a week for so many years, and had so much exposure to smoke from everywhere when smoking was considered normal, I found it disgusting and people smelled like dirty ashtrays, as I got older all the second hand smoke exposure damaged my lungs permanently and had issues which got worse with age.

Do you think that's why they wrote Fix You?
You know, I heard that song the other day (years ago) and I realized it was, for me, about drug addiction and the things we give up for it. Relationships, pawning shit. And then, seeing the light and having it encompass you and light you up.

Bollywood, I'm sure, but it made me cry.

That's why I thought first of Coldplay.
"Fix You" and "The Scientist" have a place in my mind / heart for different reasons.

I had used to smoke, though in an on/off manner. I quit 13.5 years ago, knowing that I never would again. I liked breathing. A few years later, I developed sleep apnea due to pleurisy and asthma due to environmental factors (bad stuff in the air). I miss breathing.

    I smoke weed.
But only before I go to bed to get a good nights sleep if needed.
Never through the day or early evening.

yeah, absolutely, we are very different. I do feel like we could all learn something from them, slow down, take a step back and reconnect with nature in a way most of western society has sadly forgotten.

They use tobacco in many ways, including drinking a brew of it (makes you vomit, sweat, etc, helping to purge, purify, remove negative energies as well as toxins), Snuff, AKA Hapé or Rapé, which is finely ground tobacco blended with ash of certain woods and other herbs. Rapé is used in meditation, in purification rituals, psychedelic ceremonies, and even just socially or for an energy boost etc, there are many different blends between tribes and even from shaman to shaman, and they serve different purposes. I use Rapé routinely, and its quite the experience, very uplifting and clears the head in a wonderful way. If im feeling depressed, stuck, angry, bored etc, and i sit with the Rapé, it 90% of the time clears that negativity.

There are other ways of use including topical ointments, baths, etc, and yes, smoke even, but that smoke is different than how we do it, no chain smoking, Its wild tobacco, pure, unadultered, its also very strong high nicotine content, which helps oxygen and blood flow in the lungs. Of course smoke is bad for you, but occasional use set with intention is fine.

I can't remember the last time my brain didn't had weed, because the first thing i do on my day is to drink a coffee and blaze some ganza to see the birds singing. I think it's beautiful. And it doesn't make my work hard or less enjoyable, in fact a joint it's a good time to refresh mind and ears and come back clean to see what my bad sober brain did to my crappy ass song.
