Sure. Those are 13th gen processors and should support most anything modern. I just mentioned the stuff about AVX2 if you were looking to go old school for computer gear... I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt as far as knowing what your intended workflow will be.

For video though you'll need a decent GPU and I wouldn't skimp on that one. The NVIDIA RTX 30 series are great and have relaxed a little in price since the RTX 40 series was released. AMD gpu's are junk for video and I would never recommend one unless your build was strictly for audio (for audio actually I wouldn't recommend a "GPU" at all) or gaming only. When you select a system board make certain it has adequate facilities for NVMe and at least 64GB of ram or more... You'll find you need lots of RAM for either production discipline (audio and/or video). Also don't bother with system boards that offer built in wifi or any other built-in internet gizmos as you don't really want a production machine that runs scene-ware (if that is your intention) connected to the internet anyway. A wired giga-bit ethernet port is fine as it will facilitate networking with your other machines on a LAN if needed. I would recommend a spacious AIR cooled case with room for easy expansion later. Water cooling is nice in theory but it's an added expense you really do not need unless you're into over-clocking the hell out of Processor/GPU - which I do not recommend for production purposes at all...

Absolutely go for 13600k....if it is cheaper
The 13600k is almost identical to 14600k in terms of performance. So if you got a deal just go for it....

    The 14600k is marginally better....
It is basically the same chip with bumped up clock speed a little faster not that it would matter too much in practical applications in real world..

Buy the 13600k over 13400F. The F version of all Intel chips doesn't have dedicated IGPU which the K version have and provides great advantage while video editing and rendering. So spend a couple of bucks more and buy a K version.
14600k or 13600k whichever is cheaper...

    I agree with @saccamano
You can choose a different Motherboard with more features like more USB to connect all the gear.....
You can get decent motherboard for cheaper price even. Just a suggestion.
At lower price categories go for MSI, then Gigabyte but not the ASUS prime series or ASRock Hdv. They sucks.
MSI Tomahawk ATX and Mortar B760, are hard to beat for price. Gigabytes AORUS Elite series is good and have numerous USB ports.

On higher side. Asus TUF and ROG series are fantastic. Asrock Pro, Steel legend and Taichi lite are fantastic too.
    Choose as per your requirement....

The rest are Just best Value for money from reputed brands and top class products in their own category.

I suggest you to check out the reviews of each products if you want.

    Hope it helps:thumbsup:

    P. S: On a side note you can get all these parts in white version at almost the same price for a aesthetically pleasing white build... In case you wish. The GPU I am not so sure though.... :mates:

Thanks guys, you are being really helpfull.
    Didn't know about difference between K and F CPU-s. I'll go for K.
A couple more questions please, should I go for MoBo wih DDR5 or DDR4? And also, should I buy ddr4 or ddr5 RAM? If I go RAM ddr5, should I get 6000mhz or for example 4800Mhz, or is the difference negligible? This is what still bugs me.

4060Ti is around 550 euros where I live, I can get MSI Geforce RTX 4060 for 380euros. And also can't get z790-A, they have z790-P and some other z790 models.

I would personally suggest you to go for DDR5 MOBO since you are building a new system as of today.

Only those upgrading from older system are better off by choosing DDR4 sticks so that they can use the old MOBO and do not need to purchase a new one. For new platforms there is no logic in choosing an old MOBO. :dont:

DDR4 3200MHz CL16 memory while performing similar to DDR4 5 6400Mhz CL 30 at present has no chance of upgrading and will be rendered obsolete in a couple of YEARS.
So you need to purchase a DDR5 MOBO now with whatever optimum DDR5 sticks available now which in a year or two the technology will mature and blistering fast sticks will be available at cheaper prices. You can upgrade then if you have any requirements or your heart desires..
All new z790 boards support RAM overclocking upto 7200/7600 and some Gigabyte upto 8200 Mhz. So you will have some headroom in this regard if you want to buy faster RAM.

    All that said.....
For music more RAM is important than faster RAM. So choose at least 32GB minimum under present circumstances. Not that you may need right now but with new VSTi and Kontakt instruments sometimes taking a couple of GBs for a single patch.. you won't run out of RAM soon at least for time being. Moreover this will also help in video editing.

6000 Mhz is a sweet spot for AMD and 6400 for Intel. Above this speed you won't get noticeable difference due to technology constraints i.e Motherboard chipset bandwidth limitations. At this speed you get optimal benefits for reasons mentioned above.

Moreover low latency with tight timings of RAM sticks are important too. For you while playing guitar it's more important I guess. Choose a DDR5 stick with at least CL30 if not available or high price you can choose CL 32.

Since you are using Intel system choose Intel XMP 3 Sticks. For example GSKILL trident Z5 are available in both AMD ExPO/Intel XMP. choose carefully. :guru:

GSKILL TRIDENT Z5 RGB White is readily available in 6000MHz CL 32. You can choose Corsair Vengeance /Dominator, TEAMGROUP T-Force Delta RGB DDR5-6000 CL30 too. They are fantastic....too and readily available and cheap

While using VSTi RAM won't matter too much but while using heavy Kontakt /sample based Plugins like Omnisphere, etc Instruments will load faster and perform better without lag.
    Check DAWbench on this aspect....

So if you are a heavy VSTi user with occasional sample based Plugins you can choose 4800MHz if very cheap but otherwise I would suggest that you choose the 6400Mhz/6000 Mhz at least for Intel. Price difference won't be much..

There are more expert members in this community than me....Hope I am able to help a little...
BTW you can find all this information in reputed techwebsites...

For Music Gpu is not important but you are also into video editing right! I Guess 4060 will do fine but..
Since I don't do video editing myself I ll check which Gpu/Mobo are latest, best and will provide you the best value for your money...
    Will be Posting soon..
In the meantime someone may help you out...

The MSI Pro Z790 P is basically an earlier version of the Z790 A, which is the latest in the PRO series. The Gigabyte Aorus Elite X AX WIFI 7 retails for just 249 $ on Amazon. That's a good one and reasonably affordable I guess. If it is also not available, Which other cards the store have let know.

As regards GPU I found the 4060 is the best value for money for video editing. The 4070Ti although a top pick is considerably pricey and is not recommended for your level of work. Someday in future if you become an expert and professionally earn money from work then you can definitely upgrade. Otherwise the 4060 is enough for upto 4K encoding..

sorry to put it bluntly, but such generic question won't yield you any meaningful resume,
do your research, come up with complete setup idea, and we'll give opinions,
don't expect anyone give you any other advice than what they use or would use, people hate to admit they bought something wrong

A computer is always a depreciating asset. I wouldn't invest too much money in something that will be worth half what you paid in 2 years.
Spend as much as you need to do what you need to do now in as efficient a manner as possible. If you have to spend an additional 1000$ to get 3% incremental gain, your return on investment is negative.

Most people buy more computer than they will need and then it becomes outdated before they ever use it up.

Unless you are using a computer in a business production environment where you write off the purchase as a capital asset, it makes no sense to overspend on a computer. If you want to impress people, just put it in a fancy case, most people are visually oriented. If you want performance, buy something you can upgrade the cpu and memory on as time goes by, but eventually it just gets cheaper to replace the whole thing.

There is no perfect computer, set a budget and find something that fits that budget. People buy computers to run programs, figure out what programs you want to run. look up the minimum requirements for the software you want to run. now find that system. Thats your base minimum you need for what you want to accomplish.

run that against your budget, if the base cost leaves a surplus in your budget, figure out if you really need to spend the excess and if so where is the most efficient use of that excess (surplus money) for your needs.

good luck and remember whatever you buy, no matter how grand and expensive will be replaced with something else in the next product cycle. and so it goes....

sure thing - but there's a thin line between spending too little (and wasting money on sooner upgrades) vs. spending bit more (and wasting money on expensive outdated tech) long-term

and I explained how to find that line, by establishing what software you want to run on the hardware..

    impossible to tell long-term though,
I bet even DAW/plugin devs don't really know what to push few years from now

I usually build my own desktops but i went with a laptop this time. most powerful one i could find basically. i always try to build best i can. less upgrading needed and more futureproof. i9 13900hx and rtx 4090 alienware m16 r1. 4k+ laptop. got premium support, inhome repairs, and accidental warranty that covers drops, spills, etc. the premium plus didn't seem worthwile. saved almost 2k on it including the warranty. spent around 3k all together after email sign up 10% and cybermonday deal. around the same i spent building my last desktop(i7 6700k and gtx 1080) which was still really doing well for being around 8 years old. bios chip finally failed after having issues for years and not trying to waste time fixing it up. may build something with the parts but idk yet. i hear you can find good deals on their/dells refurbished outlet site. this thing's a beast. should last me 5+ years. can bring on planes etc. has the maximum wattage possible to still be able to fly with. i researched the warranty and almost all glowing reports of getting replacements that are newer/better than the one they returned. anyways wish you luck. let us know what you end up getting/building.

    Thanks for answers guys.
I for sure don't want to overspend, but I also don't want to save 200 or 300euros and buy a pc that will be too weak very soon and I won't be able to use for the stuff I need, because then I would have to upgrade sooner.
And also, when new stuff comes out, I know my rig will loose it's value, but it doesn't really matter if I can use it for things I need it for, if you know what I mean.It will have value for me and I want it to last at least 4-5 years, then I will have more experience and knowledge to maybe get a better rig and give that one to my daughter hehe.
I'm doing research on all components but I can't find all the answers so I have to ask here. You explained some things that were buging me, I really appreciate that.
I won't do heavy video editing, mainly guitar playing, some tutorials and stuff like that. Guitar latency is important for sure.
I don't want a laptop because I had it up and I also want a bigger screen and just prefere desktop pc.
I'll probably use Cakewalk for audio and Shotcut and DaVinci for video.

I plan to go for 32gb ram, and 2 ssd 1TB each, and then later I'll get bigger HDD for storage.

A question about i5 13600K, I noticed people saying it tends to run hot, will I have to do some tweaking with voltages and stuff, because I'm not familiar with that stuff. Or that happens only when pushed to the limits?
Do I have to apply thermal paste?

Oh, one more thing, I will use 24 monthly payment, so that's why I'm buying from my local store, and they will put it all together for me prive included. That's why I can't buy through Amazon or such for component here, component there,...if you know what I mean.

I totally agree, I started with 1300euros budget, but since it was long time ago I bought a pc I found out it wasn't enough, so I decided to go to app. 1500- 1600euros, because I also need a quality cooler, power, ...
300 euros over my initial budget I can take, especially on 24 month payment, it is not too much difference monthly and I am not big spender anyway, and in the end I also wan't to treat myself with a nice rig
    But that is top.
I'll come up with planned components and you can advise me if it seems okeyish . I'll try to keep the price down on some parts.

nowadays CPUs are designed to sustain high boost frequencies as long as they stay within power/voltage/thermal limits,
i5-13600K is designed to try boosting up to 5.1GHz stock, with 181W turbo power - and 181 watts power converted into heat is definitely a lot for a casual desktop PC..
you may get better performance for audio if you disable hyperthreading and/or efficiency cores - but that really depends on which DAW and which plugins you use, and also complexity of projects..

for the guitar, a good audio interface is not very expensive and will take care of latency issues, with the computer you are spec'ing, that should not be a problem.

The biggest burden on your system will be Davinci editing software, so spec your computer for that application.
this is what i found recommended :
    Windows:
Blackmagic Design does not have a minimum requirement regarding the make or specifications of your processor or CPU. However, we recommend using a processor with at least four cores.

The more cores your processor has, the more powerful it will be. More cores allow parallel processing, speeding up the tasks you perform. They can be handy if you work with higher-resolution video, run multiple GPUs, or use processor-intensive codecs such as H.265.

Here are a few general guidelines regarding the CPU you should use for your Resolve workstation.

Video Resolution Minimum Recommended Processor Cores
    HD 4
    4K 6
    6-8K 18

    this is taken from
    https://teckers.io/davinci-resolve-system-requirements/

you may want to verify this on blackmagic's site

    https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve

I'd start with the free version and upgrade to the $$$ version if you like it and need the higher end features.
