I can't tell if that's the right one. On THIS PAGE is UA's list of qualified list of TB adapters (srcoll down for details).
Note that certain Apple adapters are incompatible too.

I was under impression that you have Apollo (X) series model with Thuderbolt 3. Older models are even bigger hit or miss on Windows :dunno:

    Good luck with this...

I just spotted a reflection to my issues when I bought a Windows USB version. It came with a faulty USB3 cable and I couldn't find any shops that sold them at the time to test it... Weird thing is that even though it was connecting and I think I could even update the firmware and a few things like you it wouldn't recognise properly in the DAW... Sounds a bit similar in being partially working.

A new cable made it work perfectly.

I do remember reading about a LOT of issues with thunderbolt in early versions, its why I went with USB.

Have you tested the Apollo with a bare bones Windows as suggested on the previous page? If not you'll never know whether it's the H/W/Driver or something you have installed. That's the most simple and informative test that can be done. The reason being because there's nothing else other than the operating system installed. If it doesn't work, then doubt is removed. If it does, then it's something you have installed that's stopping it from working. Up to you, you asked everyone. Considering how much time you've already spent this would have been answered at least a day ago.

It could be a thunderbolt bios setting. Try turning off thunderbolt security in bios to: No Security. Also if you have something called Force Pwr in thunderbolt bios setting try turning it on.

One possibly stupid thing but here we go... Is your Thunderbolt cable connected properly? Thunderbolt icon facing UP on your Apollo?
Can you please try rotating connecting sides and see if it works?

Sounds stupid, but my previous Apollo Twin X needed the cables to be connected properly in order to work.

I haven't yet, as it's the most time-consuming option I was keeping it as last :) But I think I'm going to try that.

Just tried what you suggested, still not showing up.
The Apollo Twin is showing up in the Thunderbolt Control Center, so I think the connexion is fine.

I don't have any TB Bios Settings as my MB doesn't have native TB.
I've used the workaround described in this post: https://egpu.io/forums/postid/59540/

The Apollo Twin is showing up in the Thunderbolt Control Center
The AIC (https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GC-TITAN-RIDGE-rev-20#kf) is working properly as I can plug an external HDD and it works flawlessly.

    Thanks for your suggestion tho.

Apollo is approved device in Thunderbolt Center?
Try connecting it to another port on your TB3 card.

Also, did you do THESE ?

Am I right in continuing your thought...
So if you buy UAD/AVID goods, the dealer should offer the appropriate legal protection insurance so that you get the support you are entitled to.

So you're thunderbolt set up is some kind of workaround on a AMD motherboard? Then maybe that is your problem.

Try and Remove all (manage approved devices) in thunderbolt center software. Then turn the pc completely off and drain all power from pc for at least 10 seconds. Then start you're pc without the audio interface connected then try and connect it when pc in on. A so called hotplug. This to see if Windows ask about security level when you connect the thunderbolt cable after the pc has been drained for power.

My motherboard is not AMD, it's an ASUS https://uk.store.asus.com/90mb0xx0-m0eay0-z390-p.html
The workaround works perfectly as I can plug other TB3 devices and they work just fine.

When I hotplug the Apollo Twin it immediatly shows up in the Thunderbolt Control Center, whenever I plug it. It does not ask about security level. In fact, I don't think it ever did.

Wait... Your Asus motherboard doesn't seem to support TB3 add-on card at all. Asus PRIME Z390 A does - but PRIME Z390 P does not.
TB3 card requires Thunderbolt header in order to connect.

    Can you please check?
