I don't really want to install jDownloader 2 which supports JRE 8 out of the box. Partly because I've heard it has a lot of bugs, stupid design decisions, updates, etc. so I was going to go with 1 which I like. Anyone using jDownloader 1 With Java Runtime Environment 8? I've read that it will give an error message on startup but that I could deal with if the rest works. I've read that some people had issues with the clipboard and some other stuff.

 

I personally use both, some host work better from one of them but sometimes zippy gives me issues so I use mipony but it's really up to you

 

When you say you use both are you referring to the Java versions or jDownloader? I'm asking if jDownloader works properly with Java Runtime Environment 8. Mipony is not my favorite especially compared to jDownloader 1.

 

Both with java 8 and remember to use the offline installers

 

Jdownloader 2 works flawless here...!

If some files make trouble, it's because some like Zippyshare change their code
to force people to not use Jdownloader and go directly to their site.
Usually a day later you can update and it 'works fine again...

Since I don't trust Java at all, I installed JDownloader in Sandboxie,
and run it isolated, just to be safe !

I use the free version of Sandboxie for over two years now
and removed all antivirus software.
So far never ever got a single Virus or Trojan.
Don't trust any software, ...use Sandboxie !!!

Do you prefer jDownloader 2? I've heard that it has a lot of issues and a lot of people don't like their design decisions such as when you delete a link it asking whether you want to delete the link itself or the files from the hard drive if it's a completed download. I find that kind of an idiotic design decision.

 

Lately JD 2 has been running smoothly that i haven't used one in a bit, but i'm really annoyed about all the updating and believe me don't want to fall beyond, stuff just starts acting weird like everything is timed-bombed lol. Literally i kill everything Java in the Task Manager and start JD2 fresh when i sense it's been a smartass

 

jDownloader 0.9.581 working beautifully with JRE 8. You get a dialog that you might not have the correct Java version installed on launch but it seems to work fine.
