    Hi Everyone

Even though the following bass is just a simple sub bass, it really sounds so round and comes to the forefront like a main instrument in the mix.

What is the trick behind this fat bass sound?

You can listen to the bass sound from 04:55 min. where it plays at the most busy part of the track.

I think that's patch from Trilian, take that with grain of salt, think I even used it somewhere, it's Trilian electric bass for sure, don't know which one exactly from top of my head.

Trick is to use it as mid layer and get it to pop out how ever you can without worrying about screwing up your low end. I opened that old project, but I have tons of plugins missing including Trilian, I did some saturation that's for sure lol and some psychoacoustic preset trick with DrMS, Diva is doing sub bass layer.

Today I would just probably slap Saturn on it instead of chain of those Airwindows plugins. It sounds round and warm from the get go, because it's not simple sub bass, it's actually sampled and processed electric bass, it have lot of going on for it and you can enhance that further.

I don't know for fact he is using this, but my guess is that he is. https://icebergaudio.com i demo'd it and it's pretty nice if you make this kind of music. happier EDM styles like trance, progressive house music. Not the Sub Cut..that might be newer.

    This is amazing! :disco:

Doubt he's using it, track is older than that plugin, but it does the job amazingly, reduce funking around and gives you really great results in seconds.

    Thanks for sharing. :mates:

It's easy to create with FM and some lowpass. Quite simple patch. I made this in Surge XT (free synth). Let me know if you need the preset:

Thank you so much for sharing your channel strip tip. I really appreciate it. Thanks to your channel strip I discovered DRMS plugin. It is an amazing tool.

BTW I've already listened to a few electric bass patches from Trilian in Youtube. As you mentioned above there are patches sounding similar to it.

Wow. This plugin is a game changer. I'm still curious how come this plugin hasn't become so popular.

    Thank you for sharing it.

Thank you so much. As always you are sharing some spot-on tips. Would you possibly share the patch and the midi also?

Yeah, it was all the rage back than and when you spend amount of time funking with same sounds, you can spot it even with enough processing on top of it, but good news is, you don't really have to, that plugin clone shared is much better option.

    Have a blast brother :mates:

I've chose a FM wavetable as @Baxter suggested. Then I applied your channel strip to the FM wavetable and literally achieved that fat sound.

Thanks to both of your advices I've really learnt many important tips.
