Sometimes you need the whole package: psychotherapy, behavior modification and drug treatment programs. However, the success of any treatment is mainly based on the motivation to stop using and, for some users, the desire to disassociate themselves from their social circle of regular users (it has to do with my post in which I talked about the search for real motivations for you, goals, etc.)

Is it possible to enjoy life to it's fullest without taking drugs? Absolutely. Can YOU do it? Well, yeah but it will take some time and effort giving your previous habits, it's not the end of the world and it can be annoying for sure but it is possible. Good luck.

Sometimes I like to smoke weed and take some local magic mushrooms. When I make tracks I like to smoke weed. For mixing I like to be clean in my head. One or two times by years I go to the "Pyrénées" mountains not far from my home where magic mushrooms grows, to have another perception of the world and to me hallucinations are cool. When I was young I goes a lot in free party, I consumed so much drugs my brain was fucked up, I was agressive, antisocial completly disconnected from reality ,I had so much troubles with my family, "friends" and police. The life is better without, but sometimes take "drugs" is not bad to make music or just to mind travel. For me and it's only what I feel and live, drugs like weed help me to be creative.

    Good luck bro.

This is very serious concern. And you can't be forced to take any medication (according to the laws of spain), if it is not an order from prosecutor's office. Or you are disabled by law, and your parents are taking the decision for you. Anyways, med+weed is not good combo. You have to choose a road.
You also said you won't take more meds, so if you are forced to that? Are you gonna tell your doctor your dependence on weed? If weed gives you extreme anxiety, why you persist? Take cbd instead, not this 20% THC weed geneticallly modified versions.
Also if you depend economically from your parents is not good idea to go that road. Yo have never get to mature, mature men and be independent if not is gonna turno against yourself.

And this thought of I can't live without drugs, it is false. One day you will realice you are tricking yourself with this question. Obviously, you can live without. Just see it like, I would not consume today, and tomorrow i will see, and is more like a continuous process than an eternal 1000 kg stone of never ever i will try again. Who knows, give yourself time and space to explore what is better for you.

I am 71, and I have never seen a drug in real life. I don't even know how it smells. I have never associated with people who use drugs. By the time I was 16, I had already read about 800 books. From the age of 18, I started collecting books, and now I have my personal library of 2,000 titles. I studied law and philosophy, pursued a career as a lawyer, authored two laws - in the field of culture and cinematography, and wrote several articles on philosophy. For 10 years I was an examiner in the field of law at the exams for civil servants. I played amateur classical guitar for 11 years, then immersed myself in chess for about 5 years. I trained in judo, practiced yoga daily for 11 years, engaged in regular bicycle riding for 3 years, and swimming for 2 years. I wrote a book of aphorisms and held monthly lectures on philosophy for 3 years. My greatest addiction was Hi-Fi, and I spent a lot of money and time on it. In 2004, I began delving into digital audio, which remains my hobby today. I don't smoke or drink alcohol. The most important thing in life for me has always been to maintain a clear mind and engage in healthy, meaningful activities.
So yes, I believe it's worth living a life without drugs.

It does but there's no evidence your brain is processing it correctly. The world is rife with malfunctioning brains and they rarely can diagnose themselves. Anyway, this entire form is dedicated to an activity that makes no objective sense so why do you do it? Isn't music just another crutch to help you escape the world?

The most used psychoactive substance in the world is sugar.

  13. Ok, if were waving our big dicks about. I have owned and read well over 2000 books. At one point i owned nearly 10,000 records and CD's. I have watched and own at least 1500 films on bluray, 4k and DVD. I have probably 200+ games and 6 consoles, every one of them played. I had my first comic strip published in a national magazine at 15. I released my first game at 16. I have been a painter, comic illustrator, pixel artist, concept artist, 2D animator, 3D modeler, game designer, narrative writer and art director. I have worked on over 50 published games on 6 different formats, including more than one game of year, and one bafta nominated title. I studied film direction at Terry Gilliam's film school and made a short film. I was a regular at some of the UK's most famous clubs, seen countless legendary DJ's and helped run forest raves with my friends. I'm an amateur photographer, cyclist and write crappy dance music to relax.

I have also done heroic amounts of drugs.

I think what you've done is awesome but there is no 'best path'. Drugs inspired many creative aspects of my life and on rare occasions sent me down darker paths. Even though I'm very sensible these days, I will forever treasure their social, spiritual and intellectual influence. One summer evening in 1988 I fundamentally changed my outlook on life and I'm happy I jumped on the roller coaster. Like your story, this model probably wont fit anyone else, we all travel our own path.

I've been sober for about 6 years now. I don't smoke, don't drink, no substances. My creative expressions are waaayyy better now than it was when I was using. It took about a year... and it was rough at first. Like someone said earlier in this thread..

It's rough dealing with yourself but you can do it. Then the real shit starts happening. :)
I'm also vegan so I really don't do ish anymore :winker:

Don't know about psychoactive, but it is very addictive and its treatment brings billions to the medical profession and big pharma.

Plugins for the drugs. And drugs for the plugins.

Life isn't worth living without both.

    No.
Firstly, sugar is not only found in sugar cane and sugar beet (which is what the consumption statistics refer to afaik), but in pretty much everything. For example, 1 liter of milk contains about 50 g of sugar.
Secondly, milk is not psychoactive. Beta-casomorphin-7 is potentially psychoactive, which is metabolized from the b-casein in milk. The potential release of BCM7 is approximately 0.4 g per liter of milk (assuming 12 g of b-casein per liter). However, to the best of my knowledge, it has not yet been proven whether BCM7 can even enter the bloodstream as an intact molecule via the intestinal walls and then cross the blood-brain barrier to have a psychoactive effect.

    Sorry :bleh:
