You're sure about that? I once compared them side by side and after that I wondered why Luftikus has this GUI. Luftikus is a digital EQ with an absolutely predictable behaviour while Maag doesn't have this at all.

 

Maag's EQ4 behavior is predictable but it's an unusual eq in terms of band interactivity, so it can be hard to predict. One wouldn't notice it if only using the air band, it happens when multiple bands are being used. I don't think the unpredictability is due to nonlinearity or anything like that, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I have the PA Dangerous Bax...it's just ok honestly. I'm not sure if this is the plugin being discussed here. Most of the time a basic shelving filter does the job just as well. I got the Bax cheap so idc

 

According to some test, sonical tests, plugin doctor- there is not too much difference. It is there, but both plugins are digital. Not talking about hardware.

Yeah I agree that the behavior is weird compared to other EQs. There's a video on YouTube detailing it. I think it was that instead of boosting the EQ band when you add gain, it lowers the gain of all other frequencies, but different than auto gain matching as the bands interact differently.

 

I'm glad you're happy with that! I'd also recommend Comper and ChanneV from Analog Obsession. They're my favorites out of all the plugins.
