it makes the directors cut of THE WATCHMEN, seem like a short film. I watched 3/4 of it and gave up and I hardly ever give up on a movie, its not that its that bad, it just its that long..... and it moves even slower so it seems like you are being fossilized alive in amber as your life ticks away second by second... but just my opinion....

 

I hope they never make a remake of Barbarella.

 

To be honest, I was a bit skeptical. I thought to myself, oh no, not another movie that integrates homosexual and strong woman motifs just to get some extra funding for LGBTQ friendliness. But hey, I was pleasantly surprised. The homosexual knights are completely out of place here, but since pretty much everything is completely out of place, it makes for something like a 'coherent concept'. And what a concept it is! Smooching knights flying through the neo-soaked canyons of a neo-futuristic medieval city in a flying car, while a fruitloop-spitting dragon-whale-straus-girl beats up some henchmen in the background? Hell yeah, why not?! Awesome! Not a "new" story per se, but some interesting worldbuilding ideas, good jokes and some very charming characters. The knight couple is sweet and Nimona rocks! Disney might want to pick up pen and paper and learn something. Stick your index finger up your butt and just make good movies that are fun to watch. This movie is a lot of fun!

Fringe the show? I watched it when it was on in 1st run but I remember it running out of steam...

 

Yea, the show. It's not that good, but it's fun when you want to binge a show.

i watched Babylon last night, only movie I could find that was longer than the Superbowl...
it was interesting but led nowhere, nice cinematography, but the story lines were disappointing or rather doomed..
still if you want to see how Hollywood began its interesting. i'd give it 6.8 or so.

if you like jazz, some of the music was incredible. probably the best part of the film.

A great scifi writer, Robert Heinlein, has as yet only had a handful of his stories make it to the screen.
This is a japanese film, so far not dubbed into english,so subtitles only. But worth the effort.
a film version of "The Door Into Summer" IMDB gives it 6.4, I'd give it a 7 - worth a watch.
