    How old is your HDD?
I experienced similar behaviour on WXP with bad sectors :dunno:

Not yet, two days ago it happened again. I have noticed that when rebooting starts if I let the pc rests for a while and then restart it the rebooting don't happens anymore! :dunno:

Could it depends from the fans?

Yes...I have read about that thing on another forum, but my pc is linked to a UPS so, at least theoretically speaking, should be ok on that side...

My hdd is old, 6-7 years or so...

    Hey Diabulus.
I don't know if this has any relevance since I'm using Mac, but I've had a similar problem.
My machine is 8 years old now and last summer I started having this problem with it freezing or rebooting by itself. Checked for info around the web and saw that many ppl had same problem with this particular model due to a defect logic board. But heat also seemed to be a a contributing factor, even at rather normal temps, so I cleaned my fans and installed a software that let me run them at a higher speed during summer. Still got the occasional freeze or sudden reboot, but only like a couple of times per month. It's been fine now during winter, but now that the temp is rising i guess I'm gonna have to crank the fans up again.
I'm hell bent on tryin to squeeze 2 more years out of this damn thing :wow:

    Hey, Diabulus in Musica

What kind of power supply do you have and what model is that UPS??

Have you ever heard of Active Power Factor Correction (Active PFC)?

This may or may not be your problem?
