My video only has a 360p/25fps option

 

Don't be so certain that the same fate won't catch up with you soon. Things have been standing like this with me for the last three weeks. It seems to be just a matter of time and their perseverance.

What I miss in FreeTube is "Liked videos".

After a couple of days of testing, I can say that Freetube is great: first of all it doesn't need login, so no evil tracking. Also, no advertising. Note that in the -Distraction free- setting you can turn off all those annoying options such as trending videos, popular videos, recommended videos etc. The "Are you still watching?" message has finally disappeared: I can listen to long playlists without any interruption.
There is a bug: the app has a download button, but I can download videos only without audio.
I'd love this app for iPhone also

I just installed FreeTube (Apple version).
Works really great but for me also, a downloaded video contains no audio.
I am wondering if this is a bug or just something that has to be implemented yet.

There has already existed YT alternative that looked good but you had to install the APK outside of play store and eventually it turned out to be risky, suspicious of malware that has caused slow down on the whole device.
So I'm not sure I would assume to jeopardise the system.

 

Is there anything like this for Android TV?

 

I join FreeTube for Android phone, it’s great too!

Personally I use an OS with Android but I also highly recommend Newpipe which is also an open source software which gives access to the Youtube/soundcloud/bandcamp catalog from your smartphone which makes it a sincerely very useful tool which does not trace or no data collection either..
A good way to be without a Google account etc!
In addition, importing playlists and favorites is possible!

I downloaded from mac and has video, just have to choose wisely the option, they should improve this section too.

Not yet from this developers, but I suggest kodi, after install kodi search for kodi plugins there are a ton of "premium free and no ads services"

This was the one I rather decided to uninstall because it caused slow-downs and other suspicious behaviours in Android.

 

Try LibreTube. It's very similar, also Open Source, and can also be downloaded from F-Droid, a trusted open source app store.
