Exactly. When it's about a version 1.0.0, depending on the devs, it might have a few bugs, or a ton of bugs, that the people beta- testing it didn't find.
If 1 day or 1 week later, there is a v1.0.1 update, of course, everybody should update.

But when an app has been released a while ago, like 9 or 12 months, and there's already been a few updates, if there is a new update, eg, v2.1.7, that replaces the v2.1.6, very often, is just a tiny, minor update.

Sure, if it's, say, a daw like Reaper, that goes from v6.9.4 to v6.9.5, there might be 20 or 30 bug fixes, 20 or 30 changes, and 1 new feature.
But if it's just a vst plug-in that is being updated, from version v1.2.5 to v1.2.6, often, there is no bug fixes, and the update will probably do a minor thing, like renaming a button or knob, or making some text bigger.

Then, there are companies, where their v1.0.0 were so thoroughly tested, that they are released totally bug-free, and a v1.0.1 update will be fine, for the next 2 years, until a new v2 is released...

People who install apps should know that, an app with a version v1.2.5
V1 ---> major version
V1.x--> a quite big update
V1.x.x, or V1.x.x.x --> minor, or 'maintenance' update

All this to say, when someone is using a warez version, that has been working perfectly, for many many months, the user has created presets, etc, is it really worth it, to update the plug-in from version v3.1.5 to v3.1.6, and risk having some install or license issues ?...

 

If you wait a little while, other people will install the update and alert you to most possible problems. Otherwise you are volunteering to be a beta site. Waves are a little different. They will update on a schedule, but then if an update fails for people; they will quickly issue a fixed version. This happens almost every new subversion they put out. Some updates do almost nothing but try to block however the last version was cracked, and maybe fix some minor details. I rarely notice anything new in Kontakt except which new libraries will not work.

A lot of the time the update won't matter to you. But if you are installing something the first time; you should normally be better off using the newest one.

R2R released the Korg Triton and Triton Extreme again on Halloween for Windows. Their releases say this:

later) which contains keygen. You can use RET's EZ keygen instead of our one.

Can the RET keygen they mention be used to unlock these synths, or does this just mean that it can be used as keygen for Software Pass? Moria did not do any Windows versions of these, only Mac.

I remember installing latest M1 (on Win10) not long ago. I was in a hurry, got the latest r2r release and carelessly just installed the thing. It works and I would certainly remember if I had to do anything with network adapters.

just tested this just for the sake of it. First I thought that my Korg M1 is working because I had the r2r's Software Pass already installed so I double checked and I can't find anything related. Then I installed Triton and again, it just works. There may be some remnants on my system that make all of this work, but I highly doubt it.

This would almost certainly overwrite the cracked/fixed Pass with something legit thus making it useless.

Now I've read the .nfo's and yes, in the Triton's one it says you need the 1.2.4 pass installed, but in the pass itself r2r says - You don't really need this if you are a WIN user.

I would suggest to uninstall anything Korg, uninstall any Korg Software pass thing (maybe with Revo, clean the registry) and just try to install the latest Triton Extreme v1.1.1 R2R, no Software Pass.. what's the worst thing that can happen ..;)

 

you could have to put it back. big deal. especially when people start with failed installs or mixed releases...

If you are using Revo to install/uninstall everything then probably not. Otherwise I wouldn't be surprised.
I have this happen if reinstalling new versions of things i uninstalled. But I am not using Revo.

Try new version KORG_Software_Pass_1_2_12

 

I had to use a combination of the TCD Korg Software Pass and the R2R Korg Software Pass to authorize Triton.
Can't remember quite what I did since I was extremely frustrated and drank lots of beer.
In the end it worked, though.
Try drinking lots of beer and using both Software Passes burp...

 

it's a Mac. When I did it with r2r on Mac, it worked first try and hasn't been a problem since. I probably Codesigned it before running and maybe even reset it's permissions with Permissions Reset2. Otherwise I might remember it. Those two steps are needed on lots of Mac installations.

But doing it the way I did, you can then firewall Software Pass so it has no internet/network connectivity. You install it, close it, and never do anything with it again. But you have to download R2R versions of the synths. You do not download them from Korg. I never like to download anything from developer's official website if I can avoid it. Besides things I have legit copies of, of course.

This shouldn't be a complicated install. The synths just check if Software Pass is already installed. Like Arturia.

Moria just released new updated versions of some of them.
