Hi lets say youtube pays for every 1000 views (lets say for example purposes 3 USD)

there's some youtubers who choose to make 1 hour videos, that used to make 10 minute videos

whats the logic behind that since they get paid by views?

or they are also paid for duration now?

    THanks

Youtube also break up longer videos and insert advertising videos in the middle of them. it probably works out to something similar either way. 1 dollar per million views.

oh so ads is different from views...so maybe they choose ads income over views?

i have no idea how that is tracked. but i have watched a few videos where every few minutes there are more ads. there are too many people on there making tutorials for other people about how to make tutorials for them to all miss out on that $.000001. No-one would make longer videos for free if they could break it up and make another $. 000008 on the same amount of content. it's probably some kind of "impressions" count.

dont you also need 1000 subscribers to your channel + at least 4000 views to apply for the partner program to even begin making $0.0001 per view? I forget, but it is or was something ridiculous like that.

Youtubers get paid by ad views not video views! So longer videos have more ads than shorter videos which is why people have no problems making longer videos. That's why youtube has been trying so hard to get rid of adblockers. when someone views a video with an adblocker neither youtube or the youtuber get paid for that view

Btw im not against adblockers as i use one myself incase anyone interprets my previous statement as that

Not entirely true because ads, which there are several different types of ads that pay per view, arent the only way Youtubers make money.. sponsorships, product placement, affiliate click through traffic and purchases etc., in which case plain and simple video views, with or without any ads, blockers, skipped or whatever, still can and do pay.

That is true! The convo was about youtube paying per view so i kept it only about direct payment from youtube and not outside sources

I often asking to myself this question "Why did you loose your time making tutorials if you are really an expert in your speciality?"
So for music production I now looking more at deconstruction by producers with credibility that make this activity a part time job that's it!
They have nothing to sell and no direct sponsoring for theses videos, like Ian Kirkpatrick deconstruction (Dua Lipa, Selena Gomez) or even KSHMR tutorials for EDM genre that I have subscribe to his teaching website for 10$ month, it's nothing compare the time it takes for watching half finished YTers videos using poor projects as examples who sound unreal.
