hi,i looked into this few years back, but i have since reinstalled windows and lost my settings,i now cant remember how to do it the way i did.
my scenario is,an instrument track with playing over say,32 bars, with an insert like audio damage replicant on it.
it randomly creates bits that i might want to use for 2 bars or so,so id like it captured as audio.
how do i set up the audio track to capture this?
i recall setting up a dummy in connections but just would like some expert knowledge so im not doing it wrong
    thanks

If you have the latest Cubase (13), you simply add an audio channel, select the input to be the instrument, hit record and start playing it.
If it's v12 and older, create a group channel, add that instrument to it, then you can set the input to the group.

You should check out https://cubaseindex.com/, video examples on how to do this and many other things from the Cubase Hangout (Tuesday and Friday), search for what you're looking for, you're bound to see examples in video where Greg goes through the process.
