I want to shut up but.. fuck it.

Have anyone tested JET and JETMIX, it seems like the Algorithmic and LST for the static EQ section didn't respond at all, only the Sampled ones are working. You guys get the same behavior ? want to report, but need to confirm first if it needs fixing but nobody checking that post at sister site anymore.

Volume C in SIENNA ROOM not working as well.

Yep, cannot hear anything different in the JET and JETMIX Static EQ section when switching through the Algorithmic options and using any of the Volume C options in SIENNA makes the plugin go mute, the Input Trim and Depth knobs are doing something funky and the Perfection slider is completely non-functional. You have to delete SIENNA and load it back in to get it working again.

Volume C works fine in 44kHz for me.
Looks like Volume C vectors has only 44/96 variants, and everything else has all freqs

no wonder it didnt make a sound at 48kHz. It mutes the plugin, and the plugin stays mute even when I pick something else from different Volume after.

Can confirm that SIENNA Volume C works properly, including sliders and knobs, when using Blue Cat's Patchwork 2X Oversampling(96kHz).

Some new crackers do this with their "READNFO" files like anyone cares or even know who they are. These are a bit different, like they want the developer to actually read them. I have never seen them go this hard at anyone, so this one seems like it is something Personal. They kept this guy's 10:1 protection to plugin ratio to themselves for a very long time. So why now? They even included "evidence" of the hypocrisy involved in form of an mp4 video using their release in a commercial studio for a video. The ONE thing they request people do not do with their work; and even worse, not just a little home studio use. Commercial use, in a video, By another plugin developer!! You can see how that might just get someone's goat.

The NFO file's comments may be unnecessary, but imho they read like Obfuscation. The releases themselves look like the work of master Reverse Engineers, but that would be the "fair play" way of winning a game. If something turns personal, and "Fair play" is out the window; there is no reason to think someone did not fire up Kali and go straight through this guys web app, website, or personal computer. Mr. Acustica even posted these run exactly like they do without all his BS protection added. You don't say? No sh*t. lol.

Just to inject a little hacking conspiracy theory; but sadly, I can't say it's even an original plot. It's like Chapter 3 or 4 in this old book:
The Art of Intrusion: The Real Stories Behind the Exploits of Hackers, Intruders and Deceivers by Kevin D. Mitnick :guru:

If life was Mortal Kombat, this would be R2R's fatality

    0 nights after it's released.

I had to search through my posts to find this thread again: https://audiosex.pro/threads/sincerely-giancarlo-del-sordo.61688

Some choice moments from that thread:

    upload_2023-11-25_15-51-21.png

This one in particular confirms that giancarlo is a cracker. So kuddos to some of R2R witches for correctly suspecting him:

What's interesting is I was fairly new into buying AA products at the time of that thread. Even praised Sienna because it worked really well for me. I've spent so much on AA stuff since then and but I use maybe 30% of the ones I bought now. I stopped mostly because some were sluggish or used too much cpu, not to mention the huge space suck. They've made great strides since then and but the whole DRM thing has made me reconsider. As you can see from my posts, I'm not an innocent party; but I do go out and buy the things I enjoy using (See my BF post). AA was no different. But I've decided this is where I get off the ride.

I think I read earlier that 'this disabling of plugins cannot be turned off, its automatic'...

Makes me wonder if whilst checking the r2r cracks he disabled his own plugins :D

    Code:
    A witch says,

One of the typical mistake of Acustica,
is mixing retail files and trial files.
Since retail and trial files are
     protected by different licenses,
it can't be mixed. When they mix, the
product will not work correctly (file
     decryption will be failed). It
crashes the host, or plugin will be
     muted.

     Sometime, issue happens only in
one sampling rate. It is because
     Acustica product does not use
same file. If you have problem with
one rate, you can try another rates.
Their mistake tends to happen in
     48kHz and 88kHz.

     They should develop automatic file
verifier to test all files at one. R2R
actually developer it and it catches
many errors. We fixed many :)

R2R members think that Giancarlo is a
cracker himself, after we reversed how
     he protect his software.

     https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=581638

Here he is talking about how AV and
malware works, and Windows PE format.
The knowledge of PE format will be
     needed when
     * Cracking software protected by
       packers (like iLok WrapWarden,
       WIBU AxProtector, VMProtect etc).
     * Reversing malware (for packers).
     * Developing compiler / linker.
Most programmers don't even know what
"PE" means in the real world.
He is also saying that some advanced
protections are effective but easily done
by experienced people, which is correct.
He knows too much about these things :)

If you run a program that gathers information like Windows login name, would it be that difficult to write some code that if that login name matched those within a stored list; to then run some additional code? You'd probably need to disable your AV to run something like that though. Mobman first wrote that trick into a program matching ICQ UINs in like 2000, but that matching winner got HDKP'd as a prize.

Question: Does CPU usage increase, decrease, or stay the same? Has anyone done any tests?

No files are not mixed. They are in conflict by purposes. Too long to expain the reason why.
A Windows plugin cannot be protected, we know this. I've been saying for years that the only way was to decrypt everything, which is quite simple yet time-consuming. The tedious part was to package functioning files, but we've gradually added too many features to our file system and too many unprotected files to imitate. The file system then became too simplistic.
    Kudos to Quadra.
But as I've been saying for years, Windows cannot be protected; the mechanism of trampoline functions prevents many solutions.
On the Mac side, things can be different. But the wizard tells you that your Mac will have various problems.

    I was expecting a full crack in 2018, 2019, …
Yea I’m kinda something like that. Please don’t confuse my company with other ones: we use legit software only.

I get the sentiment of what you're saying, but (joking around) what I've been reading in these threads his excuses seems to be that its automatic that Acustica blocks accounts and the threats that if you move over to r2r you get booted is also automatic, out of his hands...

So whilst testing the r2r version I have visions of him reinstalling Windows and starting a new Acustica account after his 'automatic' software locked him out :D (whatever these measures are they sound quite malicious to me)

The point btw is that his entire story looks like bullshit to me, its one excuse after another and always blaming hackers for this bloatware, not accepting some responsibility for the stupid extremes he has gone to and thinking about his actual customers first... I mean 12gb for something that could be 1gb is just stupid.

And then there's the customers he's aiming at. Its like he's targeting twats who will never do the right thing when they can afford, so this excuse of hurting his loyal customers, the ones who would 'do the right thing', is to force the arms of those who are generally dicks... There's a psychology thing that says that people at the top tend to neglect the love of those who actually love them and go out of their way to please like a single person that really hates on them - I think its social media related. Its just mental. Focus on what matters. Find your target market and build from there.

Hard to believe when you use Luca & Studio DMI's name to market and sell your products, Luca and that studio is full of cracked software!
He is literally making money from studio services using cracked software, and selling video tutorials showing how to use cracked plugins, shameful

Would you allow an audit of your software products? how about Luca ? :)

I guess thats the only way for professionals to work when the legit software is bogged down with 10gb of DRM..

Although I won't defend someone who isn't part of my company, I can tell you that in his field, he receives plugins from companies just as I do. I believe 99.99% of his software is licensed, provided by various companies. We, on the other hand, purchase all our software as a matter of principle. I've even bought seemingly unnecessary things like IDA Pro (unnecessary because it's easily found, I use 8.2 and i’m a verified user) and sometimes we buy a plugin instead of asking for it, just to save time on email exchanges, especially if our intention is to study it as a competitor.

I am a person of strong ethics and I don’t hide the fact that in the beginning, I used illegal software but stopped as soon as I was able to. Back in the 90s, I even used pirated versions of Microsoft Office, but I have since amply repaid Microsoft for what I took inappropriately. I believe in setting things right and returning favors.
