He can talk what he want :

Their product is bloated by their protection (and they are not alone ...)
Banning a whole account when a SINGLE suspicious file is found by Aquarius is a recipe for a global disaster

ppl will not take the risk to buy a product when they already installed a non legit one. So they will STAY WAREZ or never even test it ...

I've seen him post screenshots to show how their OS tech is better. Screenshots for phase response too. He needs to show definitive proof that R2R's version is slower and less efficient. Post screenshots of CPU usage. Post a video of loading time. PROVE your claims, because I don't believe it.

Imho, as a legit user, Giancarlo should just DUMP the bloated protection, the size of it is just ridiculous. I am furious actually that AA plugins occupy so much HDD space just because of their protection.
Why even bother with protection when your whole catalogue was cracked, it makes absolutely no sense to keep going with it.
Also, from a legal point of view, if you install the cracked plugins you own, what gives him the right to delete your account, if you OWN and PAID for the same plugins, there is no way he could get away with this. If he did this to my account i would sue them.
He would have a very hard time explaining he deleted my account for using the same plugins i paid for in a different, otpimized form.

Also, piracy in some EU countries means distribution, selling such software but just owning such software is not piracy in several countries.

the more Giancarlo talks, the more repulsive he becomes, As Billy Ray Cyrus says: "The more you stomp in shit, the more it stinks"

As long as you have a valid licence, it is not allowed, but it is a grey zone.
DIRECTIVE 2009/24/EC OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL
    of 23 April 2009
on the legal protection of computer programs

    [...]

    Article 5
    Exceptions to the restricted acts
    1. [...]

    2. The making of a back-up copy by a person having a right to use the computer program may not be prevented by contract in so far as it is necessary for that use.

    3. [...]

Possession, as long as it is not for a commercial purpose (BTW commercial also means producing, mixing, mastering, etc., with pirated software, as long as you earn money with it), is not a criminal offence. However, your pirated copy can be confiscated. At least in theory. If you are connected to the Internet with your PC, even in practice.

Does Acustica bann Acounts for using cracked software in general or only check for their own plugins? It wasn't that clearly said in the stuff i've read so far because if he checks your whole HD it's insane and probably even illegal. I would be surprised if it's legal to bann an account because usually you can't do retailion stuff like that. It would almost be the same if a store owner takes all the things someone bought legit back from him because he got caught shoplifting. Sure he can sue you or get the cops involved etc. but if he just takes away your stuff that you bought legit he's stealing your property. Even if they put that shady shit in the terms and conditions this shouldn't matter because I don't think you can write stuff in there that is illegal otherwise.

I don't really care about plugin manager software like many people do. It doesn't bother me when I get stuck installing one, but usually we do not need to run them again anyway. What I noticed about Aquarius was the speed of the AA servers while attempting to install some free or demo plugins. It even has the Imaginary Progress Bar, where the % of a task completed has no link to reality of how long it is really going to take. It hangs and unless you go into your process viewer, it may have crashed a minute after you started download or installing. Most plugin manager apps are nowhere near as resource-using as their actual plugins. If using the plugin manager app is an unpleasant experience, why would anyone buy something just to put up with it? The plugins are likely not going to be much better. No thank you.

    wait a minute...

    ...from acustica...
"In the spirit of transparency, I want to openly discuss a piracy-related issue that has emerged recently. This issue concerns the size of pirated versions of our products, which are smaller than our official releases. I'd like to explain something: for our anti-piracy protection, we've always prioritized loading speed over disk space usage. This has resulted in products that load very quickly (and when they didn't, we developed complex mechanisms) at the expense of disk space."

How the hell can acustica claim that the gigantic bloatwared "protections" assist in the SPEED OF LOADING A PLUGIN?? And how about whole speed over disk space nonsense? I counted 26,000+ files for 6 plugins. And these are optimized by R2R!!
    upload_2023-11-22_17-22-54.png
How do sizes of plugins like this equate to "loading speed"? There's some very quick tap dancing going on at acustica I think... Can someone explain this so that it makes sense?

He probably wants to say that it can load fasteer in that bloated form because it's uncompressed, in another container or something like that but it is probably not true compared to a program without any protection. Its maybe faster than using this kind of protectipon instead of having compressed files that always need to be uncompressed to be used every time that pesky protection wants to check your libary

While I'm no lawyer, in their "Terms of Use" on the AA website, this is one of the terms:
    "Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the Service."

The "for any reason whatsoever" is pretty broad, and could cover anything from pirating to them not liking your avatar on a forum. I imagine a legal argument could be made against them, but who of us could afford to pay for that?

it would be very hard to find anyone to take the case, even if you could afford it. There is no real money in that, even to an ambulance chaser.

As someone who has been surfing with the 'Scene' since '97, this is par for the course. An exercise to crack Acoustica's algorithm?, An exercise to bring Acoustica platform to common user?, Who cares? The fact of the matter is that for the past 25+ years it's the same conclusion.......provide AUDIOWAREZ to the public (reluctantly). That's it. The only thing that is new is that we now have forums for new generations to publicly post narcissistic and self-serving comments, which really go against the history and protocol of the AUDIOWAREZ community and edicate. The tried n' true way to obtain these releases, in the past, was to get into a mIRC room and download and share. No communication involved, just brute DL/UL. We need that again!

Efnet. da.ru websites, and newsgroups (alt.binaries/s/u). Not necessarily in that order. But a lot has changed and I do not think most people trust thier vpns enough for dcc filesharing. At least with those old slow dialup isp days; it was very easy for it to be someone else's isp. I wouldn't go that route.

The thing is that there are many libraries that were launched from the beta version (48/88 khz are missing) and if you work in a session at 48 you will say that the AA sound is shit and it is all because of the absence of frequencies for your session, so I'm sure they would be deciphering the commercial if they were given it. That's my theory, although no one ever knows.
Another thing I notice is that the cracked ULTRA ASh is unusable due to its impact on the CPU, however the official version does not saturate my CPU, I don't know if it has to do with the crack or the decrypted version is an old and poorly optimized one.

I have already changed the default settings for some plugins to load in higher oversampling in Reaper.
I don't think the trial versions of their programs differ in processing from the full versions.
