Not sure if this has already been around a lot, but I just caught it today for the first time and it was probably the best 5 minutes I've had all week. This young Asian girl in Kansas does these little video productions as a one-girl-band. I want to meet her and shake her hand.

I think that's probably what it is -- the fact that she's doing it with so little, and coming up with something quite decent in spite of that. She was written up in Esquire magazine for these videos, in and of itself an achievement. It's great to see young people who really feel something for music; they go forward despite financial limitations and make something happen starting out with very little. The icing on the cake is the purity of her enthusiasm -- just look at her face, she's so into it, while at the same time all she really has is that purity, no band, no decent equipment, just her heart. It's wonderful. I could watch that video a hundred times and still be impressed.

And yes, she's cute but too young for me

For the sake of humanity I'm hoping you find some other level of 'beauty' in her video beyond that. At the same time though, if I were the right age I would hit that until the neighbors were demanding my eviction BTW, check out her video of Closer by NIN. It's a bit more suggestive

 

Yes because that's really what the focus of the video was...her interior design skills.

 

I already found it from the first minute of paying attention with my eyes and ears... But man... you just can't overlook a girl who passionately makes music that's really hot for some male musicians.

Awesome - that's what knowing your kit can do. Proving we don't need every single vst/vsti/daw/sampler/samplebank or whatever - keep it simple and learn the crap outta what you got = a style you call your own (and deserve).

Update - I cant get enough - that Monster Mash she does is also great to watch - its not as much the sound she produces its the way its produced.
What 1 can do with a Mic, an Axiom 25 and an 8x8 Monome (no doubt there's a laptop involved somewhere too).
