Woah, this is a massive info! Send this to R2R and let them aware they are separate frequency pack for the plugins and they can update the releases and maybe included it in all future plugins they planned to release. It could solve the 48kHz issue we're having now! So how to tell R2R ? Anybody ?

I know this is probably impossible to answer with 100% certainty, but as a legit Acustica owner I'm wondering if people think it's likely that future Acustica plugins are going to be routinely cracked after this breakthrough (as has happened with Plugin Alliance, where new plugins are cracked almost immediately nowadays after their release following the Xmas release last year), or if this is going to be a 'one-off' dump of the current Acquas?

Acustica have gotten really good this yr -- Tiger, Ash, Jam, Pumpkin, Mystic, Diamond Lift 4, Salt are all bangers... and I reckon things are only gonna get better in 2024. So it would be good to hear ppl's thoughts on the matter before I think properly about making the jump to R2R

yeah they will be like: "lets add another 10Gb of protection layer ..." as for performance, forget it!

What I wish from them as a final user is to offer the posibility to others like AlexB, Cupwise, TIMP, Henry and AITB to make the same plugins as them, full eq's, not one band, full channel strips!

Not gonna happen. I don't care for Acquas except Ash en Brighton (legit), but AlexB's consoles are the best. And just bought his new API 2500. Luckily we have Azzimov creating all-in-one skins for a lot of Nebula bangers.

Fun to see R2R exposing their protection though, I mean Jesus Christ I installed 4GB of Ash which is only a few hundred megabytes? Get your act together AA.

so for those of you, who struggle getting them to run, here some steps which could prove helpful, IF you follow step by step!

    Step 1:
Download latest Visual C++ redist X64+X86
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170
    Run them!
    Step 2:
Run the ''Make_APPDATA_Acustica_Dir'' command within the Acustica Audio Framework folder you got downloaded
    - Make sure this folder exists C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Roaming\Acustica (it should be empty)
    Step 3:
Make sure this folder exists: C:\Program Files\Acustica\Framework
If such a folder does not extist, make it manually.
    Step 4:
In your Windows taskbar, right-click on the Start Button (windows symbol) - Select “System” from the context menu.
Scroll down. Click "Advanced system settings"...
Make sure the ''Advanced'' tab is selected at the top and select 'Environment Variables' at the bottom.
Under ''System Variables'' locate and select ''Path'' and click on ''Edit''.
Click ''New'' and in the part that lets you type, enter ''C:\Program Files\Acustica\Framework''
After finishing: close those windows and REBOOT your computer!
    Step 5:
From the main R2R folder, open the subfolder "Framework-R2R" and its subfolders ''Acustica'' > ''Framework''
    Step 6:
Copy and paste all files from there to the folder perviously created: C:\Program Files\Acustica\Framework
    Step 7:
Go back into the Framework-R2R folder and there should be an installer file ''w_dpcpp_cpp_runtime_p_2024.0.0.49848'' - Run it!
    Step 8:
Let us assume you want to instal VST3 versions - procedure for VST2 should be similar:
In your default VST3 folder make a subfolder ''Acustica Audio''
Inside this folder make a subfolder for any of the Acustica devices you want to add - let*s start with Pumpkin:
Make a subfolder called ''Stupid Pumpkin'' or ''Fire The Pump'' or whatever...
    Step 9:
Now - after extracting it, go to the folder location of ''Acustica.Audio.Fire.The.Pump.2023-R2R''
Copy the contents of both, the ''!COMMON'' and the ''VST3'' folder (THEIR CONTENTS - not the folders themselves!!!) into the
''Fire The Pump'' folder you created previously in VST3.
    Step 10:
Run your DAW - ''Acqua'' folder should appear and within it ''FIRETHEPUMP'' should reside.
(repeat Steps 8-9 for all other Acustica plugins you want to add)

    ENJOY!!!

I feel like no, they will not be routinely cracked. I think r2r even referenced to that in their NFO, that they waited until they had them all cracked before releasing, because they knew dev would change protection. And i agree, Acustica's latest offerings are really good. I expect they will get many new customers because of this release. Come next year when they release something new and exciting, and people realize how good their plugins sound, they will want it. IDK how thats going to work out for them with Aquarius, and their entire collection of cracked acustica plugs, but we will see.

Im staying legit, but im one of the seemingly few who has no issues with running big sessions. Mac M1 ultra, 64 gig ram, i can run 100+ acquas no problem. Would i like the optimization that r2r offered? Yes, of course, and its great that they exposed it. But i dont care enough to deal with the hassle of install and selling all my plugins etc. Theres only a few more plugins from acustica that i want, and i plan to buy them in the coming days for black friday.

It wouldn't make sense to burn another loophole for only a few new things. Would it?

Also, at the rate this developer updates and fixes things; they would have to work all day just to keep up with all the updates.

Also, i doubt this dev has the capability of building a stronger protection than Metafortress and ARXAN, both that had been broken on the last months and were reference on antipiracy. As R2R said, their protection scheme is kinda amateur and handmade. So i think it will be easier than PA for example, to bring the new plugins AA eventually release.

How do you put 2x the blue cats? I don't see the oversampling option

i'm no expert but i don't think it's only about the type of protection.
strong or weak or impossible, there are people who can crack it, it's just a matter of time.
then there are some groups that are LEGIT and drop the RIGHT CRACKS at the RIGHT TIME, like in this case... i believe there is a lot of softwares that's been cracked already, it's just waiting for the right time to be released

48 kHz (or other "static" samplerate) trouble exist on others "profilers" too.

Like NAM (supposed to be fed by THE SAME samplerate than capture) :
    https://www.neuralampmodeler.com/post/nam-plugin-version-0-7-5-is-released

ToneX interface is STUCK at 44.1 kHz ... that's how they solved the problem
    https://www.reddit.com/r/rocksmith/comments/16isox1/tonex_as_an_interface/
    https://www.reddit.com/r/AmpliTube/comments/180d98d/tonex_pedal_as_an_audio_interface/*

    Same with Kemper :
    https://www.kemper-amps.com/forum/thread/60600-usb-audio-at-48khz/

That's why Acustica include several samplerates profiles since day one.
If it was easy for them to resample, they would have made a single 96 kHz profile.

I don't know why "profilers" devs get more trouble doing resample than algos ones ... but there are all facing that problem.

IMO in Acustica's case a plugin manager actually makes some sense. While for example Izotope's and IK's just download full installers and make sure that you're online for DRM, Aquarius at least can apply patches and update your stuff without reinstalling everything, kind of poor man's version of Debian's apt.

OTOH it's the internet, the internet is for porn, and if you want to talk afterwards, there is always some topic to get upset over.
If it's not an ego fight I hope the company will remove some bloat now and provide their paying customers (me) a better experience.
(Btw: I don't think their new weaker protections have hurt e.g. Steinberg, as people are talking about Cubase again now, and I believe that was their intention after Studio1 and Ableton)

I feel Acusticas CEO is rather quite nerdy than an ego monster, hope he's intelligent enough to do the right thing after recovering from "I-hate-change" shock.

About plugin quality: I completely disliked the marketing of that company. I hated that "They recorded your favourite records with that hardware and we have sampled it now" fetish they use for advertising. Obviously nonsense. But was curious and tried their freeware anyway: instant familiar hardware sound.

Would be a love-hate relationship, but being not so emotional about gear I just hope they will get the call and adjust their company politics accordingly.

btw.: Personally I don't need the R2R stuff, I just use what I've bought on som buses and I like it, that's all.

its not true, as long as you have the entire library downloaded on your HDD it will download only what it needs to update, otherwise if you deleted all the stuff or if you change directory in the app it will download from 0 all the library
