So I downloaded the Addictive Keys Complete v1.1.8 WIN OSX-R2R zip and was able to follow all the steps accordingly, but got stuck where it says to run the keygen. There wasn't any keygen included in the folder and the only one I have is for IK Multimedia and it doesn't have any options for Addictive keys. Sorry if it's a dumb question, I just don't know much of what I'm doing tbh. I would try to get the 1.5.4.2 version but all the links I found were down. Thanks in advance!

And whats in the R2R directory?
1. Sometimes there even is no keygen because the program is regged. In these cases a keygen ist obsolete.
2. In many cases an A/V scanner deletes a keygen when it is copied to the harddisk. Take a look inside your A/V log and restore the keygen if so.

p.s.: If you want to avoid this behaviour always use the same directory for downloading cracks and keygens and exclude this directory from virus scans.
OR
even better is, if you can, use a second (cheap old) computer without an A/V for downloads only. Back it up once. And if you catched a virus just restore it.

This release should have one. But other people had problems installing this on some MacOS versions.

For 1.5.3, one of the mac releasers switched from a 170 meg installer to a "fixed" version which uses the full installer (4gb). There is probably good reason for that. it was changed to a Universal Binary (u2b), but that should not be much more than double the size of an intel-only release. 1.1.8 was released in 2019. 1.5.3 U2B is 3 years newer. Get that one, it is "just Install" instructions. And then firewall it.

 

Empty R2R folder = deleted by antivirus

 

im really sorry i dont understand what you mean but from whta i could gather it was mots likely deleted by my antivirus? do i have to redownload and disable my antivirus? im sorry i dont know much about this stuff

 

i downloaded the 1.1.8 one because the other sites that were said to have a 1.5.4 version had the links taken down probably and the 1.5.3 is for mac and my mac is currently bricked

 

the only thing in the r2r directory is the r2r instructions file and the quick link for more stuff. also i wish i had the money for a new laptop i had to save to get this one lol

The A/V moves the keygen to a secured place on your disk. Inside the A/V you can restore the keygen. How to do it depends on A/V. So you won't need to download the release again.

If you can't manage to restore the keygen, re-download it. But be sure to use a reliable source.
What you downloaded was a repack. In many cases the caontain real viruses.
Use the sister site instead.

i just use normal windows antivirus since i dont like how spammy (and expensive tbh) everything else is. so its just in a secure location?

you must delete the name of the download site immediately as we are not allowed to post them here on AS!

If you find your source reliable, download it again, but first disable windows defenders realtime check or it will be deleted again

 

I didn't notice the 1.1.8 version you tried using is both Win OSX. the one I was looking at has them separate.

It rises even more on Windows when you have file extensions hidden. That's a fast way to find out an "image file" is actually an executable. After you run it.

go into your Windows Defender, I assume that’s what you have, in there you will find:

A: the Keygen in Quarantine, choose the action to ignore and restore back to place
B: exclude a certain folder from being scanned, like download folder. This is on your own risk! You say you don’t know much about these things, well you’re going to be in the worst position until you do

you can also deactivate the “live” feature of the Defender, but as I said you are new so it’s all on your own risk. If you fiddle a lot with cracked stuff from different sources you increase the risk, if not then the risk is negligible

It seems (from searching) that is usually because the VST does not know where the library is.
- Mount the .ISO (or extract).
- Copy the whole "Addictive Keys" folder & the "AK_Library_Placer.exe" to where you want.
Then run the AK_Library_Placer.exe and it will set the path in the registry or in a file someplace.
(You must do that whenever you move the library).

Mine just says:
"Error: createPluginFilter exception: Could not find BusLayouts specification file!"
(Running the library placer solves that error for me)

it said to do that in the instructions so as per another guide i found i made a folder called XLN Audio in program files to extract the folder and library placer there. i did that before launching the installation and it gave me the error still
