Tiësto cancels show after knocking himself out before gig
The DJ bumped his head on a giant flat-screen and was forced to cancel his gig at San Diego's SAP Center this weekend



''I had an accident and got a concussion at last night's show'', tweeted the DJ.

Tiësto was rushed to hospital on Friday night after smashing his head while making his way to the stage. Though he is now making a recovery, the DJ was reportedly diagnosed with a concussion.

The crowd at San Diego's SAP Center was packed and cheering in the lead-up to Tiësto's headlining set at Electric Bounce House, but the DJ booth was apparently cloaked in darkness. As Tiësto prepared to begin playing he bumped his head on a giant flat-screen; allegedly passing out beside the decks. Paramedics arrived, evaluated his injury, and decided he should be dispatched to hospital.

"Tiësto was walking up to the booth & hit his head on an LED screen. He was bleeding & wanted to play, but mgmt said no!" explained Andre Saint-Albin, a DJ and producer who was at the gig. Tiësto was a little more vague: "I had an accident and got a concussion at last night's show," he tweeted. "Dr's told me to rest so no show tonight." He later corroborated the report of a run-in with an LCD screen by directing his followers to TMZ.

Unfortunately, collisions with rigging seem to be one of the major perils of working as a top-tier DJ. In Mexico last year, Skrillex ran straight into a bulwark as he attempted to exit the stage. (sorry, i couldn't resist... but i guess Skrillex thought that everything in his path will bend easly as the pitch of his dubstep growls )

 

I remember watching a video on youtube. I forget who it was (I want to say Alvin Risk)said that touring with porter Robinson was incredibly boring because had a bed time after he played his sets or some shit. He said that touring with tiesto on the other hand was insane. How do you get knocked out by a tv?? Haha he probably did too many drugs and they assumed he had a concussion because his eyes were dilated... LOL. I laugh when the article states that they found him unconsciousness next to his decks.

How can you feel bad for the dude with the amount of money that he's pulling in? I'm sure at his next show he'll be wearing a retard-proof rubber helmet.
