maybe you could elborate on which mouse click you mean, i click the grid and no midi clip genrates. same with a left.

the only way i can get a midi clip to genrate is if i first have a section marked in the looper that out lines a certain amount of bars or beats i want the midi clip to be first. and then to change the length further i have to be at a certain point on the side of the clip.

studio one you double click and it generates no first step needed and i can drag my clip as one would expect.. by dragging it, not on the corner or some special spot but by just dragging it. so i stand by what i say

You can use the pencil tool. For me it's option+left drag and there you have a midi clip

exactely, so it's one click, and you can make the clip as long as you wish draggin, same for an empty audio click

I have pre-compiled midi clips in my template, so with the PLE I can add for example
-a clip with 16-16th for hihats
-4 bars with E3 quarter notes on 2nd beat and 4th
-4 bars with 4-4 on C3 for a basic kick drum

then start modify or merging a recording

    you dont

we mean left standard click on PC, ALT+left click and drag to the right
(or pencil tool, which is even faster)

are you using Cubase? Try what we wrote here

That said, we are talking about something very very basic that Cubase can do since 25 years, you just have to study it, then you will have many discoveries and satisfactions

When I double click in Cubase in a midi or Instrument Track in the grid, it also creates a midi clip, in between of the 2 set markers/locators. :dunno:

So you have to drag the loop first then create a midi clip. Again steps. Not just click and go

you cannot create a clip until the bars/ beat length is set in the looper. Again in s1 it’s click and boom it’s there

    no

we have explained with the small spoon my boy, the bro there just added another way: in Cubase there are always many ways to make the same thing

unless you have problems, have you tried what I wrote?

ALT + CLICK (left standard click on PC) + DRAG to the right as long as you need the clip to be

the clip is done in 1 click, 1 step

maybe someone will help you with a video or a painting, but it's so easy that sounds hilarious to make a video just for alt+click+drag lol
it's easy my boy, this is a basic move in Cubase since 1996

if you tried and didnt succed after the third time we explaine...oh well...you have problems, I cant do more : )

bro he telling you that the ALT is a extra step meaning he has to push another button lol .....he trying to say he just want to have a one click with no extra buttons lol ........i dont see how yall dont understand each other here lol.......some people dont like clicking extra buttons to do simple things such as in fl studio u dont have to hold down ATL or double click to put in a midi note all u do is just click one time but you can't do that in Cubase sometimes that alone runs people away from certain daws .... im not on either of you guys side im just telling the truth....i have both daws so i know what he's talking about and i know what your talking about im just trying to figure out how yall don't understand each other lol its pretty simple lol

no bro, thats what you are understanding and maybe you have another series of problem about that

    here's quoted what he wrote

    .
then, for you all, if alt+click is not as good as "double click and generate" it just means that Cubase is not your DAW, no problem at all for me : )

if your criteria for choosing a DAW is how to create a midi clip then you bet you can stay in S1 as long as you wish : )

    regards

you are 100% correct he doesn’t under stand that alt+click+drag is a completely more convoluted process then just double clicking. I’m not sure why.

Just right click then select the pencil tool and drag the mouse for as long as you like the midi clip to be! And if you don't like this method, you can select a loop on the bar and then double click on it. Or you can use your fav DAW.
