Hi , i was wondering say in winrar, 7-zip etc...i'd like to select a rar file without opening it in say winrar..and use a keyboard shortcut (hotkey?) to extract that archive - essnetially without the use of a mouse., maybe both to a specified location or just extract it to the same place..is there a trivial and simple way to do this or is the quickest way to right click and select "extract to..." or "extract here"..if not in winrar, then is there a program to look at that WOULD enable me to do this?
thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.

You can put anything on a keyboard shortcut when you are a shortcut guy like me.
I use a utility to do it: Fast Keys 5
    https://fastkeysautomation.com/version5.html
There are other utilities like that but this is the most versatile I found.
    It's a $29 software, Trial available.

If you prefer an automation of the extract process only, here is a GUI freeware solution with Explorer integration: https://extractnow.com/#/home
Take some care with automation as it sometimes leads into rabbit holes :)

Total Commander is doing this (and probably similar tools too).

7zip will install into your windows file menu handling
install 7zip and then right click on any archive file (.zip. rar whatever)
and you'll see 7zip listed as the 2nd choice below "open" , highlight it with your mouse and it will
give you a submenu of choices of what you can do with the file including extract it.
