It's interesting to read the complaints about Arturia's softsyths as being "sluggish and clunky," because I've never had such a problem with them. I use them often, and most of them hit the spot, and I've never experienced excessive load from them.

My own complaints about Arturia: I'm miffed that their Oberheim SEM V got deprecated, permanently superseded by the SEM V2. They sound different; my custom presets for the former don't work in the latter. The "Augmented" series of instruments seems like some NI Play Series b/s, and they sound terrible. Anal Log Lab turned into some hipster junk with icons of the "curators" and such, and the presets and their negligible controls are lame. I wish that Arturia would update the Spark library.

100% agree. I like the first version of Anal Log Lab, it was practical, and easy to create your own stacked synth and presets.
Now it seems to be made like a baby toy for preset players...

The SparkLE has that gross and sticky knob thing going on. I had bought it used about maybe six years ago and it was fine but it changed for the worse. It stays in its soft case now and sometimes I still use the software it comes with because it still sounds stellar and works well. The newer hardware doesn't use the same rubberized plastic as far as I can tell, but I'll get back to you in 10 years or so and let you know

I use to use Arturia Spark a LOT! There was something about it that always sat well in the mix for me, without needing to do too much processing.

SparkLE accepts user samples, so there's always that.

I wanted to give ya a 'like' but had to click 'agree' instead, because there is something pleasing to the eye to see messages and likes received being perfectly equal.

I think they are under the impression they have customers who are just happy to load up one of these things and play it like a single instrument. Users like that care what stuff looks like. A big part of an "emulation" to them is the appearance. "there's even a floppy disk on the desk!". It helps sell them to people who do not mind horrible performance from a plugin, because "it sounds more analog". That's how you have half your cpu doing nothing but making random white noise and calculating when to add such "realistic dropouts".

Exactly. The final update of Version 4 was the best.

Yes, I agree, also I like the emulations to look like the original (unless the DX7 lol)
But is it impossible to do it without thousands of images?
