FINALLY! Steinberg has redesigned the menu bar (floating toolbar). Before you had a sticky floating toolbar at the top where you couldn't change the width or any other manipulation of window size. Now I can use the Windows 11 snap function for the project window, mix console window, and the key editor window. Huge UI improvement!

Although I miss that the menu bar remains when the project is closed. Now the menu is part of the hub

Take a look at this --> Snap your windows - Microsoft Support

Now I can place the different windows within Cubase to fit my needs. Since I'm on a 49 Ultra Wide Screen monitor, I have a lot of screen real estate I can use to fit my workflow the way I now want.

I want to change the split size/setup of the different windows within Cubase, I now just can do that easily

Similar issue here. No audio coming out of Cubase 13. I'm using RME Babyface PRO.
I've tried the audio interface ASIO, I've tried DirectX audio and nothing works. I can see activity in Cubase when I play something but Windows doesn't detect any audio coming out of it.

I'm going back to 12 for now until this and maybe some other bugs are fixed.

Saw a video intro to version 13 on YT, and the interface still looks years too old.

Only problem is the interface was set up to be adobe dark, and now has grey stuff in it! The pref diving is going to be a pita :dunno: But at least it is more independently "sizable", as @Pinhead12 said. Finally.

Their list of improvements looks pretty basic comparing to REAPER one. No reason for upgrade my 12 at this point.

For me, with it's patterns feature, Studio One feels like a nice balance between Cubase and Ableton to me. Will try a project in Cubase 13 just to verify I still prefer Studio One, but looks like an OK update I guess, if lacking in anything innovative or particularly progressive.

My biggest thing with Cubase is that it’s got to many sub menus. Creating a midi clip is a good example, in studio one you double click on your track and boom midi clip. Its way to complex to do in Cubase, simple task that shouldn’t take any thinking at all are convoluted or just have a round about way of doing it. Setting up audio is another one that comes to mind.

and also all the extra steps you take in the piano roll just to complete one task they need a better smart tool system desperately

in cubase you create an empty midi clip with 1 click, and I say literally one mouse finger click***

you can also create a clip with already notes inside, lets say 16 - 16th on F#3, with a key command combination or pressing a button on a controller

there are many different things beetwen CUbase and othere DAWS, but please at least mention something correct

    ***or empty audio clip, obviously

cubase invented the "piano roll", we all know this boomer sentence, but it's true

other DAWS created many interesting and unique functions in the piano roll, like Fruity Loops

but there's NO DAW that can handle 8 lanes of controllers/expression maps to play 2 violin sections set up in "divisi", or something like that and with just one click swith beetwen piano roll and actual music score ***

Cubase looks complex because can do complex things

***maybe Logic can go almost similar in that situation
