New Maselec MEA-2 Precision Stereo EQ

    I rent the HW EQ, Have AA Ivory, but didn't try this. Fuck Ilock. Never again on my system.

    What can i say about first two?
    Hardware EQ is not "clean". It definitely has some rich tone.
    Adding depth and make low mids live and pleasant roundness.

    AA Ivory 5 (i try all versions from day 1) have very close EQ curves, but:
    - No depth. Flat like a mfuckah (like all plugins do!)
    - No low-mids warmth. Just low-mids.
    - Acustica one muffling transients even in 96k (all plugins mess them)

    Blind tests with equal loudness.

    I'm sure this new plugin will not be something new. Same problems or even more new ones.
    Nothing replace hardware sonically. You can't fool laws of physics.

    Although this is an interesting discussion, I won't be trying Relabs new EQ since, in the immortal words of MFSAKA
    a sentiment to which I wholeheartedly agree.
    Besides, I've always been one of those who's less concerned with how accurate an emulation is, and more interested in whether or not it can do anything that can torque my audio closer to where I want it to be. That's not a real popular perspective though. :rofl:
    You don't have to fool physics, you just have to digitally recreate a physical object that molds unique sound waves into the air.
    What could be simpler? :winker:
