    It is quite annoying that the default search results seem in no particular order.
    In most places, the most recent is displayed at the top, or there is some option.

    Is there any way to set a default, or must one always go into the current search settings to select an order?

    You can click More, Advanced, and then at the bottom Order by Most Recent.

    There is the Option Newer Than where you can put in a date and only Threads newer than that date will be displayed, but to sort by date you need to press more and change the checked Box as @clone wrote.

    I checked but could not find any setting at the profile settings to change search order permanent from most relevant to most recent.

    Would be a cool Feature by the way if there would be an Option like that in the Future.

    ? They're sorted by post date, by default, you don't even need to tick a box.

    That's not true for my searches.
    Perhaps something is wrong in my cookies or something?

    Not for me by default they are sorted by Relevance. When i click the more button i can change it for this search to most recent, but not permanent.

    Oh, you're right, this seems to differ depending on the search... Strange.
    ...
    I just tried the Advanced options and even there, no chance to limit it to Reverb and Search titles only...

    To limit the search putting it in "reverb" should work to limit it to reverb only. Also search titles only is not under Advanced for me its displayed directly or if you click on more.

    If i click on more it looks like the second picture search titles only is displayed and under sort by relevance is ticked.

    @DoubleTake i don't think it has something to do with your cookies.

    Yeah - no big deal. Just something i've wondered for years -
    Would be a nice feature, but maybe not part of the forums' coding
