Have you ever heard the sound of Fazioli pianos?

 

Anyway, this piano seems promising too

 

The Fazioli Ebony Concert Grand (extreme) from Imperfect Samples contains up to 127 velocity layers and i guess it can achieve such a "dynamical divinity" too despite it's "not that shiny" GUI.

 

...in your dreams, surely. *yes*

 

I didn't said it's the best, but by "promising" i mean usable and reliable in some sorts of music production needs. You don't have to bash something just because you don't like it.

UVI platform is dongled, and that tells me all! Period!

 

I still remember the school piano, c5 was always out of tune

edit: anyone else remember seeing a blind piano tuner in the school hall, tuning the piano?

 

Thantrax was always my fighting friend, but no matter how big is the clash, we always end up with a beer under our noses.

 

Where I work we have one flygel and 5 pianos! They´re are tuned every 6 month and still out of tune after a few days after the tune ..... alternative: Buy digi pianos!!! Damn no! You´ll always know if its the real thing!

Ok Mr. Sugar, but sometimes "the best" term in this universe is only temporary.

 

I must admit i'm a hater of Ilok too. but would be so incredible if we would see all the f*ckin' vst world to switch to ilok... just imagine

I own the Imperfect S's Faz, and it's really quite good. And I have many other piano libs, only because piano is my "thing". And NONE of them are truly satisfying, except perhaps the Roland Concert Grand SRX card in my 5050.

The whole trouble is, for dedicated pianists, once they've played on several great ones (like the dozen literally perfect Steinway Ds at one of the private colleges here in the city, one becomes terribly picky. No keyboard can compare, no tone, no resonance can compare - and the sample libs are all second rate to the ear that has played the real deal for any extended period. It becomes a matter of settling for "the best of the not-so-hot", for studio comp (unless you're a wealthy dude, and place a Faz, Bose or S-D in your study.)

2°) Production Grand

3°) Ivory II American Concert D / Fazioli Ebony Concert Grand Extreme

Anyway,none of them sounds exactly like a real piano but in a mix it's impossible to know if it's a VST or a real piano *yes*
