That's one of the reasons why I changed from Studio One to Cubase, it kept crashing so often I almost lost my shit.
And second, I used to have the Presonus subscription model, but since they dropped the monthly payment with paypal a few months ago (only with Credit Cards now), and as an early retiree that can not get such card, they had lost me as customer anyway.
I am using the rent to own option for Cubase from splice now.
Btw, when the new update came out on the sister site, I was quite excited and gave it a go, but was fairly disappointed, as it still crashed more times in a week than Cubase in a few months.

It seems that we gonna wait for a while, and maybe in between there is some kind stronger protection involved. Lets see what is gonna happen. Now for sure there is more product to be released than Cubase 13 alone... I don't know if I should feel excited or overwhelmed with all this info and teasing.... really dunno what to say....

Uhmmm we still use Cubase for midi and vst but we also bought studio one and i love it compared to cubase, maybe because we use mac and cubase is well working on pc (better performance)?
What system are you using to compplain lot of crashes? In our macs here is all ok, macstudio max m2, macbook pro m1, imac i9 and macmini i7… monterey to sventura os…

I´m on Windows 10 22H2, I´ve got a Ryzen 7 5800X and 64 GB RAM 3600 MHz, so it should be no performance issue then, I believe.
And most of the crashes happened randomly, even in Idle state. Didn´t matter if it was the legit or cracked version or even a complete reinstall. I changed to Cubase about 6 months ago, an since then maybe had about 4-5 crashes, due to a bad plugin or graphics driver error.

Maybe Studio One just doesn´t like my system anymore, as Version 5 was really good and stable.

The stack folders as in Logic.

The feature I have been waiting for decades.

@TranceDream How does stacked folders work in logic vs. Cubase? I don't have logic.
If you are talking instant routings, it's not something everyone needs thru their workflow.

Is this not the same as assigning a VCA to a link group?

Edit: nevermind, it's a combination of the visual hierarchy of folder tracks with a blend of functionality of VCAs and group tracks.

Like @Legotron may have alluded to, I suppose it is more of a nice to have thing than a necessity, as at this point everyone makes due with folders, groups, and VCAs to do the same thing.

What I am hoping for to be implemented, is that when you put tracks into a folder and minimize/close it, it would minimize in the mixer view also, like in Studio One.

You posted this a month ago and still not mentioned on the Steinberg Website. I wish people wouldn't post speculation and maybe just stick to FACTS.

ProTools, Ableton, Bitwig Studio and Digital Performer all have this type of pattern based workflow which in ProTools it's called Sketch. I't would be great if Cubase 13 would adopt that type of workflow as well.

    Arranger Track?
Edit: Oh, you mean Live style clip stuff. I don't see that in the future of Cubase, nor as a priority for their development team. To say it'll never happen is speculation, but I think the time could be better spent on something else.

By the leak, there's no clip style recording/launching.

They added this style thing to Logic called "Live Loops". It's probably well done, but they could have spent all that time and money doing something more worthwhile. I do not know a single serious Logic user who even wastes their time with it. In fact, the only people I know of who have even bothered with it has been to make tutorial videos for it; for other users to watch and then not use it either. You might as well just install Fruity Loops. :suicide:

or Bitwig/Live, dunno, I have been using Logic for long and it was hard to get out of the usual working mindset when I was moving away to Bitwig, doubt half of Logic users can too even if the different approach to something is one tab away, you hardly can teach old dog new tricks. It's great thing for recording ideas, trying out new ones without polluting arrangement or endlessly moving stuff left/right, also it's great to actually jam with your music live and all that.

Guess good thing is that you don't need to change whole DAW for that, even Pro Tools got it, which was strangest thing, taught Cubase would be first of them to do it.

At one point I was composing pop music with a friend, standard chord + top line thing and we would just record variations and tons of ideas in clip launcher area, it was a God send, we would compose tons of material in no time like that, without things getting messy or anything.
