Just wondering how people post a song they remixed and upload to YouTube or tiktok without getting copyright? The instrumental is from the original song but they switch the lyrics.

I do some remixes and none have been kicked off of Soundcloud or YouTube. I don't know why

They alter instrumental a little too, algorithm pretty much looks for the thing it got in the database, that's why there's so many pitched, speed-ed up versions.

Because they can monetize it instead, cash in on every play you get.

If you release with the ai8m of making money, you need copyright clearances. If you release without monetising the output, then generally you can get away with it. There's a bit of an unwritten rule that you can freely release bootleg remixes (often what the industry refers to as non-cleared or non-authorised remixes) on things like Soundcloud as you don't sell tracks on there. YouTube will probably be a tad more difficult as copyright holders and YouTube algorithms generally scan for copyright infringements, so you may or may not get away with it, even if your channel/the video is not monetised. This is why you'll often find people re-pitching samples on tutorial videos and the like to try and fool the algorithm gods

Or this is my understanding anyway.

Talking about music business, any song that uses published samples has already gone through a clearance process: nobody would risk the investment to then have their track blocked by copyright issues and lawsuits. Different topic for a bedroom producer who wants to publish his own derivative non-profit work: that's where the fight with algorithms begins. Many record labels leave the freedom to publish their songs on platforms, but you will be demonetized. Other record labels have much more stringent rules and therefore any upload without prior permission is depublished.

I believe that everything revolves around money, as mentioned here. The same happens if you want to clone voices using Colab; if you don't pay, it's 'ethically frowned upon,' but if you pay for the Pro version, it's all good, man. No worries, go ahead and clone your voices

I downloaded a production tutorial recently about Vocal production. The presenter had many nice hw synths in his setup, and by this I just mean that the guy was not some YT newbie or anything like that. And like a few minutes in to the video, he is on Youtube explaining ways to hijack vocals to use for his tracks. Of course, he mentions clearances vs re-recording with another vocalist and cautions about ripping anyone off. Anyway, I was very surprised by someone showing that so openly in a video tutorial. I stopped watching and deleted it.
