Hello,

I've downloaded kontakt 7.5.0, and it works fine, however, I cannot add libraries.

I've downloaded the latest kontakt manager I could find but only one library worked out of countless I've tried, mostly I just get an error message stating no libraries have been added.

How do I fix it or find a work around ?

 

Use the Bobdule Portable Version.

 

Anything important I should know about using Portable kontakt vs the normal one ?

 

extract it and look into the portable folder. there is the library. place the libs or symbolic links (google: link shell extension) in that folder. you register the libs within Kontakt. reg them one by one, so you can see if everything works properly. thats all

tried to install the portable one you mentioned, when I try to load on reaper it says a dll is missing, however it is where it is supposed to be

 

The Portable version is by VK Danilov whereas the Bob Dule version of Kontakt is the best for installed option out there because unlike the R2R version which emulates legit Kontakt in favour of stability the Bob Dule version is almost similar but with the added benefit that it can load any library whether legit or self made provided the library is version compatible

Edit : If you had the Portable running and Reaper can,t detect then there is an install button inside the portable folder. Using this will create links in the folders where the Plugins need to be. Then DAW can detect that.
I don't use Reaper BTW please check whether the plugin folder pathway of Kontakt is added to your Daw or not

The Portable version by VK Danilov does not need installation just extract to any drive other than C//.
Then Fire up the portable version there is an Add library option.
Direct it to your library and click on the save button.

Next time you open the portable you will be able to see the library.
If you are already using the Bob Dule/R2R version please update your Native access.xml file to update it to the latest version. Sometimes this causes the problems too.
You can update it directly from NI website

 

I guess your Kontakt is working all right. You likely have some problems with your Native Xcess. Xml file. Update it

Forget about portable/nativeaccess-app dependent junk. PPL seem to have all kinds of issues with other versions. I have been using this one for over a year. NEVER, had any trouble adding,removing, managing libs. It's a FULL version as well so you can do anything you want with it. It looks, and functions just like legit version - no third wheel hacks to add libraries, etc... Remove any other kontakt instances from system and registry - then install this ISO. Done.

Native.Instruments.Kontakt.7.1.3.R2R.ISO

You are absolutely right. The earlier releases of Kontakt are very stable. I personally am still using 6.7 by Bob Dule.
Yes the v7. 1.3 releases are very stable Don,t know why. All the three version R2R, Bob Dule and r4e version works like a charm. It's only with recent releases that is causing issues with many users.

 

Yup. If it works I see no reason to change it. Kontakt has remained essentially the same to this point since around latter v6.xx.

 

some libraires requrie a certain version of kontakt to for them to load. I loaded V6 contact and it didnt show up VS another verion being 7 and it showed up easy. If you are using an up to date lib and have an older version you will get an error message for you to update

 

Yes if you are using a newer library you will need the least specified version of Kontakt to run that library .

I am not using any new libraries at the moment so I am okay with the earlier version.

If you had to use a new library then you will surely need a new version of Kontakt. So you will have to install the latest version. If you are not too bent on using the NKS standard features you can also use the Portable version 7.5.2 by VK Danilov or else you have to install either the R2R or Bob Dule version

BTW most of the newer libraries released doesn't need 7.5.2 I guess they will still run on 7.1.3

 

I dunno, maybe I'm just loopy but I have never had a Kontakt lib not load on me due to min version. Certainly not with Kontakt 7.

 

Yes sir, since you are using 7.1.3 and almost all new libraries have their minimum required version is specified as 7.1.3 even those from Native Instruments. So they should load just fine. If there is any newer specified library I don't seem to know of it yet

 

Some Kèep forest libs like watch keeper won’t take 7.1.3 from what I’ve read only 7.1.8

 

Yes keepforest requires 7.1.8.
If you want to use that library then you are going to have to install an updated version of Kontakt
