I have tried Melodyne and can change the name of the key at the top but the vocal doesnt change.
Does anyone know how this works or if its easier to do in another software.

 

if youre using melodyne u have to pick the key on the side of what you want your vocal to change to. Make sure scale snap is on, then select all and move the notes to the right key

if you want to hear some unique sounding AutoTune that sounds different than Antares AutoTune, CrispyTuner, SKnote MetaVocals, Slate Digital MetaTune, Waves Tune Real-Time etc, try out zplane reTune, because it does Polyphonic AutoTune in Real-Time, and it sounds totally different than Monophonic AutoTune VST's and key & scale changes are very noticeable with Polyphonic AutoTune, unlike Monophonic AutoTune.

You can use zplane reTune to change a song or voice into any key & scale with Polyphonic AutoTune in Real-Time, that's actually it's main strength, i have like 100 custom scales saved as presets lol.

That seems to be the advantage of using Polyphonic AutoTune instead of Monophonic AutoTune, because key & scale changes are more noticeable with zplane reTune Polyphonic AutoTune.

zplane reTune is the only VST on the market that does Real-Time Polyphonic AutoTune, and zplane reTune also does "Real-Time Polyphonic AutoTune" better than it's competition aka Zynaptiq Pitchmap, and Melodyne only does Offline Polyphonic AutoTune.

All Monophonic AutoTune VST's sound like a disaster when they are used on multiple voices / choirs lol.

In simple terms:

Monophonic AutoTune = For pitch correcting a single voice.

Polyphonic AutoTune = For pitch correcting multiple voices / choirs.

I'll show you 4 different examples, here's my same voice recording using zplane reTune to change it into 4 different scales with Polyphonic AutoTune.

Notice how they all sound totally different from each other, and they probably wouldn't sound much different from each other if i used a Monophonic AutoTune VST like Antares AutoTune, because it uses Monophonic AutoTune.

I tried Antares AutoTune it not that great at least for me. If I have a vocal starting at bar 2 the timing is way off. It show like bar 2 beat 1 missing the vocals from the start. I have the non legit version so I don't know if this issue is caused by that or it's just junk. Melodyne works fine and other Auto tune vst. Just not AutoTune

ps in melodyne go to the tool bar, select all, then you can adjust all the pitch and pitch drift on a slider as well. also under the settings forget what's it's called, next to note leveling and timing.

also- to get crazy couldn't you change the key of the music to whatever the minor key version is if that major? then you could not touch the vocals... maybe. it'd sound different of course cause like the root note is changing but maybe cool though

 

I am going to explain zplane reTunes settings and how to properly change key and scale, because it works differently than other AutoTune VST's and it might be confusing at first.

Don't use the Trans / Transpose arrow buttons for changing keys, because it sounds like a pitch shifter effect when you use them.

Here's the settings that i use:

Always set the Top Dropdown Menu to Chromatic.

Top Dropdown Menu: C chromatic <--- if you want to change the key, ONLY change the key on the "Top Dropdown Menu"

Bottom Dropdown Menu: C major <--- if you want to change the scale, ONLY change the scale on the "Bottom Dropdown Menu"

You can either use 0 ms or the default 46 ms for the Smoothing setting, it depends on which you prefer the sound of.

Sensitivity: 100%

Transients: 100%

Smoothing: 0 ms

Dry/Wet: 100%

Trans: 0.00 st

Pitch Correct: Full bar
