Okay so after quick look, i can say that all the dates are different between .nkx files, .nkc, .nicnt, .plist files. No one match in the Spitfire range and in the other libraries

okay just replace the .nkx/.nkc with the original ones i give because the dates must match or the file was overwritten in which is giving you problems

okay but should i rename them "albion.nkc. sable.nkc etc.. ?
and should i put them to in libraries which don't have .nkx file originally ? (for example LLP Solo Strings have only .nkc, .nkr and .nicnt files but not .nkx

Absolutely no problem of course ! : ) enjoy your beer, and don't worry about your grammar, mine is awful as you can see.

Here it will be time to sleep soon so, to sum up, i'll try tomorrow to copy the .nkc and .nkx files you provided to us in each one of the libraries located in the "Master Folder" which don't appears (ex: for Choirs : Liberis, Mars, Venus etc...), even in those which don't have originally .nkx files, then rename them and try again to add the MasterTab.

i'll give you feedback when it will be done.

Sorry,i ve been a bit busy to make the test earlier but however, now it works. May be the computer and external hard drive needed to restart ?

i didn't need to replace .nkc and .nkx files with yours and rename it, just fresh test after restarting computer so that the external HD restarted too and it works !

    Thanks help and suggestions.

i will do more master tabs to see if it boost the launch and loading time of Kontakt, will give feedback about it

Okay so these Master Tabs are really powerful and effective : before i made them, it took 19 seconds to display the Kontakt plugin with ~35 libs, now it take 5 seconds only to display : i made 6 masters tabs although i'm still using 19 single tabs in addition.

So what i want to tell you guys : if you begin to have several libraries and your plugin takes looooonng time to load : just do it, it really helps.

Big thanks again Kontakt Guru

==> However i'm stuck with a little problem : my 3 last master tabs appear in double, then when i looked into the Content.plist file, i noticed my last 3 lines have been automatically duplicated with an other k2lib number and in spite of deleting the first one i created manually, double tabs still appear in Kontakt, would you get an idea of a solution to get a single one ?

Delete the Library Name from here also
Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Service Center
    Library Name.xml

and you should be good to go

Thank you for the kind words :mates:

Have you tried deleting the library name.plist also?

If all fails delete all offending library.plist and their data from your content .plist and start fresh with one library so we can pinpoint the trouble maker

What is very strange is the fact that i move the content.plist outside of the preferences folder, edit it (delete all 3 problematic Master tabs entries), but when i moved back the file inside the preferences folder and open it with prefsetter for a checkup, i see again all the entries i had deleted !!

To sum up : prefsetter displays me lines/entries when i open the content.plist in the preferences folder that he doesn't displays when i open the file on the desktop to edit it ! :dunno:

PS: i deleted all the library name.plist

    EDIT :

Okay, now i decided to try with my old Content.plist file i had kept before trying to create Master Tabs, i copied it, edited it and now, there are no duplicated tabs anymore, however, a new problem appear ahahahaha  : every time i leave Kontakt and reload it again on a track, the tabs have disappeared and i must add them again :wow:
Buggy Kontakt ? Buggy prefsetter ? buggy man am i ?

Wow now i 've got a message telling me "the library can not be added", it happens for only 2 master tab, others now work well without dupe files.

i start to freakin out, start to bang my head against the wall, :headbang:

What do you mean with the .nicnt file grand master ?

Hi I've got a question about the master tabs concept.

I've done something similar for the last year or so, with different samples where I have made my own instruments in kontakt and grouped by genre under tabs, done via the plist edit method.

I'm not sure if I want to mess around with my Kontakt Library at the moment as I'm working on a project, but this concept really interests me because I have issues with libraries disappearing and the order of my tabs changing.

My question is, under the Master tabs, do i get the Individual Libraries?, with artwork and structure etc, but under one main tab? Or is it effectively like the 'browse' structure?

I have grouped all my strings/Pianos/guitars etc into rough groups in the left side before, they just dont stay there!

Really nice thread by the way.

The best method for MAC is a mix of .nicnt & .nkx

    Example:

Main Library Name: C.X.Drums Saint Hits Collection (lol)

Sub folders: Cat X vol.1 Meow
Sub folders: Cat X vol.2 Scratch FX
    Catalyst Hits_info.nkx
    Catalyst Hits_info.nkc
    Catalyst Hits.nicnt
    wallpaper.png

    Thanks for the reply

So In the Sub folders I'd keep the structure of Cat X vol.1, and inside this have instruments, samples, I get this part, but would i also put its own nkx, nkc, nict wallpaper?

I'm still finding out about why one of my libraries doesn't work and why some libraries disappear (I've discovered its only some of the ones that i added though the plist nkx method only)
this thread is a massive help in understanding the file handling side of Kontakt. Thanks for all the info.

Now I need to go and find that 'C.X.Drums Saint Hits Collection' it sounds amazing ;)
