Wait youre saying keeping my kontakt libraries on an SSD isnt a good idea? Kontakt libraries dont use RAM? I dont understand how this is true because My memory is at 99% when im playing just 3 layers of kontakt stacks. What is DFD? I have a UAD interface but im using asio4all driver because everyone said it was "good" - I also have had a problem with my computer disconnecting my externall SSD when trying to play them through kontakt and crashed ableton every time so i had to downgrade to 3.0 hub just so it wouldnt disconnect everytime i tried playing a note

Why don't you use the Volt Hardware Driver?

You're at the point where you need to start uploading screenshots of all of these issues.

Or even better videos. There seems to be something completely wrong with your PC configuration.

I just don't understand how people can talk so brutally past each other.
@tzzsmk named it first I think, and there is hardly any reaction....
    Your Problem is ASIO4ALL,

    Hello @Nick Bellagio
    ASIO4ALL is the problem,

@Nick Bellagio ASIO4ALL is making you problems...

@Nick Bellagio the problem on your PC is ASIO4ALL

    ASIO4ALL

    Nothing else.

Delete it from your box, buy a Sound Card with an OWN dedicated ASIO driver. Use THAT ASIO driver NOT ASIO4ALL.

DO NOT use an Audio Card inside ASIO4ALL. Just the ASIO driver of your sound Card.

I have all my kontakt libraries on external SSDS but with USB 3.0 - i had them plugged directly into my pc but whenever i tried to play anything in kontakt they kept magically disconnecting and reconnecting to the computer over and over again and would crash kontakt and then live so i had to get a 3.0 hub for it to stop disconnecting - i posted about this issue months ago and i tried everything and nothing worked or it would stop for a day and then do it again - i think this could possibly be causing issues as well

Drop that sh*tty CRAP (ASIO-SH*T-4-ALL) from your PC.
It is just a crutch to emulate an ASIO card. E.g. on real crap PCs or laptops with internal Audio.
Disabble any internal Audio in your PC inside of the BIOS.

    Don't use WDM or anything.

ONLY Use your Audio Card's ASIO driver.

let's clarify my previous reply as why it's the problem,
(simplified) ASIO is Steinberg's low-latency optimized audio engine, suitable for DAW use much better then Microsoft's WDM Windows uses for casual playback,
ASIO4ALL is software emulation of ASIO, processed by computer's CPU only, resulting in undesired higher CPU usage,
proper hardware-accelerated ASIO implementation is what audio interface manufacturers are supposed to provide, leveraging load from computer's CPU itself

if you see literally no difference, then it means you're not stressing your computer much (means smaller project, lower amount of plugins etc..), and your computer's CPU is able to keep up with increased load in ASIO4ALL operation
    OR
it means your audio interface doesn't properly implement ASIO

theses are my settings - how would it not properly implement it?

    Yes.
At this moment your PC should be able to handle Audio without problems.
If not, click on "hardware setup" (UAD's ASIO setup comes up) and make the "buffer" higher, e.g. 256 (or even higher if needed).
What @tzzsmk means is, - not your fault - the ASIO driver may be broken or not programmed well. First thing would be to look for the latest driver.

this is a very weird bug, if your PC has problems with such things, it could pretty much have problems with usb audio interface as well,
I'd probably start with latest drivers for your motherboard, especially chipset stuff (NOT let Windows find "their" drivers), then do fresh reinstall of UA drivers (again, NOT let Windows install "their" UA driver)

This occours a lot when drives connected through USB Hubs.
Also, Sounddevice should not be connected with USB HUBS.

@Nick Bellagio are your SSDs and/or your Sounddevice connected through USB3 hubs, than change every device (of this kind) to their own USB port in the PC

btw.: UAD video on using their soundcards:

if you really have to, they can be. But it should never be done during installation or for any firmware updates. After that, you can usually get away with it, even though it is definitely not ideal.

So as you can see here my memory is almost completely maxed out I have probably 4 stacks there of 6 instruments in each one and 2 there with one kontakt instrument each - I have about 30 other plugins running overall and its at its complete max like this if i add one more kontakt or omnisphere or EW or try to play anything else it craps on me (synth not so much) This makes me think my RAM is maxed out, just to load up the kontakt plugin every time it takes 15 seconds and this project probably took 7 minutes just to load. like how tf am i supposed to get anything done lol
Yeah my interface is plugged directly into my PC - and then i have 3 SSDs plugged into a USB 3.0 HUB going into the computer I Have them on the hub because The USB ports are all 4.0 and it was the 4.0 that was causing them to keep disconnecting

I have had the same problems with USB3 SSD. They got a little warm and the began to disconnect and reconnect while copying.
And I haven't had any USB3 ports anymore. But they worked great when plugged into a port directly.
So I bought - instead of hubs - PCI USB3 cards 4 ports each. Never had a problem again. Was a $20 solution...
but "was" means your drives now run smoothly at full speed? Than I won't change anything (never touch a running system)

You should RESEAT the RAM. Open the case, remove the RAM, and simply reinstall them securely and correctly. I have seen this problem with more "home-build" computers than I can count. I have seen more computers over the years where someone will take a shopping list of great components and try to build themselves a super computer. But they don't know how to actually build a computer, screw up the build, and it will run worse than the machine they are replacing with it. Many of those businesses who used to "custom build" machines used to do the same damn thing all the time.

The comments about not letting Windows install this or that, are mostly fair. But a better method is to not let windows do ANYTHING. Use Linux for lower level troubleshooting over Windows software any time you can.

Take an 8GB USB Flash drive. Download Unetbootin and use it to create a Linux Bootable Drive. You wouldn't build a race car and then try to fix it with tools from Home Depot.

https://unetbootin.github.io. you don't even need to go find an ISO.
