native instruments FM8 has to be most underwhelming and uninspiring ever.
Its an amazing synth im sure,but that bland colour just puts me off.

Got ya. But the reason you get sick is still because of the choice of colors and contrasts of the rotating elements, not because some elements rotate around a central point.

This is just the surface, the real thing comes when you install it, you should look under the hood, it's got dozens of tabs...

I like their artwork. The guy behind it is a great illustrator but. It is just the plugin GUI looks more like a really great paint with ugly knobs thrown on it randomly. Needs coherence

Tbh the dev could easily fix these problems by simply using grayscale instead of black/white/red dots on green circles. Black'ish background, dark gray circles, dots in a slightly lighter gray that light up in a medium saturated green or light gray when they cross loop markers. That would fix most of the seasickness problem. Furthermore, the dev could lengthen the blinking state of the dots based on a traversed percentage of the loop, as well as use object ghosting based on the speed of the dots to be less overwhelming to the brain. "Seasickness-problem" fixed. Markings on the circles would also further mitigate the problem.

 

I've been using this theme for years. The worst part is when I'm on someone else's machine and have no idea where anything is.

 

It's hard to take any of these companies seriously when they are openly proud of such atrocities. I would be so embarrassed to have someone see my screen if one of these plugins was open.

Ive been waiting for 10 YEARS for Soundtoys to update a lot of its GUI's.
Some great plugins but some ugly Gui's.
Its actually sinful.

 

Was waiting for that. Sausage Fattener is like Twin Peaks, an unparalleled work of genius that spawned a generation of mediocrity.

This is unfortunately true.
Even the knobs are to a large extent equipped with sub-functions, which is on the one hand difficult to learn and on the other hand easy to forget.

A few months not worked with and you have to learn again Thus the learning curve is a sawtooth curve, we all love ...

But the worst GUI ever? Not really, there are so much really bad GUIs out there ...
