    hey everybody,

I've been using Logic X for quite some time now, and have to say that - over all - I'm very happy with the software. There is, however, one thing that I haven't been able to figure out...:

I have a small Axiom 25 Midi controller, that esentially works well with Logic X. Most of the "advanced" options (e.g. pause-, play-, record functions) that Axiom offers, appear not to be supported by Logic X - at least not wihtout proper drivers and mapping. I've been looking all over the place, but haven't been able to find a convenient solution.

Does anyone know where to get said drivers/mapping files; or, whether they actually exist, at all? Is there maybe a workaround?

    thanks in advance!

Right click on the Logic Pro app and show contents....Look if you see the folder Midi Device Plug-Ins......you should see Axiom bundle and Axiom pro bundle>>>
If not goto Logic 9 and right click and copy the files from there into Logic X and you should be fine...I had to do that for my 61 key Axiom pro

Found this, perhaps of some use: :grooves:

    "
Having made an installation from scratch, I just install Logic Pro X and
HyperControl Installer run only if Logic Pro 9 is installed, so …

    - Open Terminal and write or copy this:
    mkdir /Applications/Logic\ Pro.app

    - Now you can run HyperControl Installer v1.0.6 64bit from M-Audio Support Site:
    http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=support.drivers&f=1218

    - After HyperControl installation, open Applications folder, right click on Logic Pro (fake)
and select "Show Package Contents" in contextual menu.
Now you can see folder named "Contents" and inside it a folder named "MIDI Device Plug-ins"

    - Copy folder "MIDI Device Plug-ins" which contains "Axiom Pro.bundle"," Axiom.bundle" and "Oxygen.bundle"
    inside folder /Library/Application Support/

you can do the same with terminal:
    sudo mv /Applications/Logic\ Pro.app/Contents/MIDI\ Device\ Plug-ins/ /Library/Application\ Support/

    - Run Logic Pro X and add your M-Audio

Remember ( if you make same mistake…)
you can not remove a control surface in setup if you do not enable "control surfaces" in Preferences/Advanced Menu for the moment

my Axiom Pro 61 now is working correctly ….

    Hi, Paolo

And sorry for my english …"

    thanks.
    a lot.
    ...seriously!

those were really helpful instructions you posted. following them, I was able to resolve the problem in only a couple of minutes. logic x now actually allows to select the axiom as a control surface. I have yet to test everything, when I get home from work today..., but this looks really promising.

    excellent post, sir!

    So...,

it's been a little while..., and although the instructions sound very plausible, I haven't been able to use the Axiom 25 properly in Logic X. The DAW does, in fact, recognize the Axiom 25 as a midi controller surface; most of the pads and buttons on the Axiom 25 still don't have any effect on the DAW... dissapointingly...

... am I missing something here?

Followed the instructions of mr. Howard. Now Logic X can't find the axiom anymore and don't know how to go form here.

The file HyperControl Installer v1.0.6 64bit from M-Audio Support Site can not be found. I found it on the net and installed it. The bundle could be found but the hyperlink did not work with my Axiom61 [with the preset 14 loaded]. In Logic the advanced midi-setting where on. In the setup the in en out had no option Hyper.

Then I follow the steps above: I used the code for the terminator. So there was a fake logic folder and I did the installation of the downloaded Hyperlink-file. In the fake folder [content] there should have been a midi-device-folder but there was nothing.

I did the axiom bundle in the library/applicationsupport/midi-device plugins and also in the program files/logic X /midi-device plugins-folder . In Logic X the axiom-file can't be found anymore and I further form an solution than I was an hour ago.

    What can I do?

    Try this.
(Make sure that the axiom bundle thing is in /logic X /midi-deviceplugins-folder)

Now try mapping the transport buttons manually

Go to logic pro x menu -> Key commands -> Edit
Search for play and stop...Select it....Click "learn new assignment" ....Hit the play button on your midi controller
Control Change or something similar should appear under "Assignments".

If this works, do this process for other functions (record, stop etc).
