hy fellas,

is there a way to get rid of cubase 12 subfolders of the vst plugins?

when i insert a plugin, they are sorted by companies, which is fine.
but i don't want those subfolders like compression, eq, delay etc.
i just want them all to be there when i choose a company.
is that possible at all?

 

Just choose "Sort By Vendor" instead of "Sort By Category" in the dropdown menu in the insert (plugin collections and options).
Edit: Or did I missunderstand you? Hmm.

the closest you can get to this is by clicking the + button which automatically expands all the categories under their respective companies but that means u'll have a long list of plugins and u'll have to scroll more especially if the company name is down the list. the best thing u can do is create ur own custom folders in vst manager and add ur plugins there, in that case say folder named "fav plugins" and drag and drop the plugins there. that way u can find ur plugins fast and not have to be expanding alot of folders.

and thats what i will do, make my own folder.
what a pain. about 1300 vsts.
but that way i only see, what i want to see.
stupid steinberg decision. subfolders

 

but i can only use one personal folder at a time, right?
can i do subfolders in my own folder?

 

sometimes programmers do things that are not logical at all.
who did that thing with the subfolders?

so the chain level is like this .. collections (give it any name , when u try to insert a plugin u can see a drop down on the further right where u can choose the default one by cubase, and ur custom ones), then under collections(at vst manager) u can create ur folders and put the plugins there so depends on you, whether u want to organize ur plugins by switching through different collections or just have one collection and group the plugins in different folders. i prefer the later
