Imho the whole deal with "no politics" is simply that there isnt enough manpower for moderating the forum as is right now so to even dream of taking care of the heat in political debates with the classic arguing and fighting (specially with our peaceful brothers from the u.s known for their civility in political internet debates lol) would be imposible.

I mean right now we have at the most one hard working mod and even i have got veeeery frustrated with him some time when some message is deleted with a "alert-reason" that is simply wrong, but i get it, already as it is its simply waay too much (voluntary) work-load and shit happens, so therefor just to imagine politics is simply not realistic as right now i would say.

But then again, even when i got almost banned back in the day, man i coudlnt care less. Wtf, make a new profile and done, but to start making these silly threads of "im leeaaaaving" is just funny.

Being on any forum is a privilege, not a right. When we went to certain friends houses as a kid some kids mom's did crap in a way we thought was dumb, but hey, their rules. A lot of them probably made more sense than we figured out. At the end of the day though, if you don't like it don't play at that house...

Nobody is forcing anyone to be in any forum. You join you abide by the rules. If you violate them, the mods or admin will deal with you as they see fit.

Fair? The world is not. You might plead your case, and good luck with that, but otherwise, they run things.

CENSORSHIP? This is not a government entity, so the "free speech" argument does not apply.

A free-flowing no holds barred, no-censorship forum? On the Internet? In 2023? Are you sure you want that? Think about it for a second all kinds of shit and liability this would bring whoever operates it. Maybe in the dark web, and I wouldn't be caught there. Have I been on the wrong end of the admins here? Yes. Plenty of times, some decisions make sense, others do not. That doesn't stop me from coming here to read, learn, and yes, shitpost every now and then. There are some people here that I really admire and have fun with. There might be some that I don't get along with (mind you, I am quite a grumpy guy), and I don't know a shitload of users here. What I do know, is that this is a resource as useful as you want it to be. If you don't find it useful nor do you feel welcome, log out. No one will hold it against you.

Lastly, it's your decision, the Internet is a huge place, and maybe this forum is not what you're looking for, and that's OK. Go. Stay. Best of luck either way.

 

There is a difference between a discussion and the mere exchange of views. The nature of a discussion should be for your opinion to be flexible and the results to be determined during the discussion. Most "political discussions" are not meant to be discussions in the first place. It is only about proclaiming a special point of view and sticking to it, sometimes even if proven wrong. So I do understand why they are not wanted here. Nevertheless, proven facts should never be censored or forbidden, because that will stop people from gaining insight and understanding even though it can be difficult to prove anything.

Even on QUORA in politics section your post must be approved first by moderators. Otherwise there would soon grow a battlefield of rage, insults and bickering.
On this site even without politics people too often post off topic, depreciate each other and show intolerance and mockery. And that's more than enough.

Don't feed the troll.

He was talking alone until you intervene.

 

The problem with this is that people dont just fight in political discussions.
They remember who as their "enemy" and from there, they have a negative attitude toward these members in the whole forum... ANd that's exactly what we want to avoid here.

Also, remember that this is a private place open to public, whit it's rules that are clearly stated.
If you dont agree, you're free to go elsewhere.
Would you go to a club and discuss why you cant use rollers, or dance on the bar?
If this is what you want, you will search for place where this is allowed.

So, enough drama, insults and fight disrespect, IMHO Rick dont deserve that.
