I'm sure I have a preset in some vst that sounds like this or something, I just have absolutely no idea where to start looking .

Is it a synth or an electric guitar or something else?

I mean the lead sound that plays the slightly strummed notes

FOA: To achieve a sound like the one you sample you would have to go for it with a guitar.

The Effect (which is surely what you mean the most): You can achieve it (in a simple way) with a "Chorus" effect (you can get some .vst or some integrated FX in your DAW) or a "Doubler" Fx (usually for vocals). If you want more effects of this type, search harmonizers fx, but try the above first.

Other: Personally, I detect that it's a clean gtr sound (you can pass it through an amp+cab keeping almost no drive, just with the intention of achieving a rounder sound, playing w/neck single coil mic position). Another tip: both the fragment you shared and if you want to base yourself on that type of music, I recommend you to use a "sampler" with those different chords, and launch them whenever you want along with the beat.

    • Here's some notes to play and mess around with: ( B♭ - C♭ - D♭ - E♭ - F - G♭ - A♭ - B♭) form: S - T - T - T - S - T - T | or just play (standard tunning): D-string: fret-15 | G-string: 15 | B-string: 15 and play with that sample.

I don't mean this in a positive way; but one of the easiest ways to get a guitar to sound unnatural and strange, is to use a Physical Modeling Synthesizer (like Sculpture in Logic as an example). They are are never very convincing or even realistic.

Honestly, nothing, it's a short chord, stroke on a real guitar.

It sounds like the typical clean sound but with the last microphone of the guitar, the one close to the fretboard. It's the typical sound used for playing jazz, and it seems to make chords with three notes. At least that's how I perceive it when listening quickly.

I'm not sure in what way you want to achieve the sound, but this tool can help you emulate the Blue Cat's Re-Guitar" pickups.

I have now listened through a lot of VST instruments....Roland Zenology , Korg Triton , Heat Up 3 , some Guitar Kontakt libraries ....but I can't find a guitar sound that sounds quite similar unfortunately .

I would be very grateful if you could post here if you find a similar preset somewhere.

Greetings and thanks for your help

No, if you want to imitate the sound of that guitar that sounds like a real guitar, the plugins you mentioned are not very realistic for a guitar. If you want a real sound, you have to go for Native Instruments' Kontakt libraries, which in my opinion, are the closest to a real guitar (in sound). Something like this:

I very rarely use any guitars in my tracks, and if I do they are almost always just a few samples. But if I was going to look for plugin based guitars (not in kontakt), i would look into the Ample Sound Ample Guitars. They are still sample-based, but they are standalone versions that you don't need kontakt for. There are quite a few of them, but they are always some of the most recommended by reviewers. Most are in the 3gb-6gb range in size; so they are within the range of average Kontakt libraries. (not crazy 50gb things).
They are also priced similarly to Kontakt libraries, too: https://www.amplesound.net/ Most have a few demo songs you can listen to.

I was going to suggest Ample Sound Guitars, but personally, I'm not completely convinced by their "realism" in terms of sound. I think Ample Sound has done a great job with articulations and even the positions where you play the guitar, as you can perform the same picking in different parts of the fretboard or open chords. Native Instruments, on the other hand, falls short in that aspect compared to Ample Sound. However, when it comes to "sound," and I want to emphasize that this is just my personal opinion, I feel that Native Instruments guitars sound more realistic than Ample Sound.

    @Ryck @clone

Thank you both for your tips.

My goal is not to have a realistic guitar, but one that sounds like my example.

    My attempt:

Shreddage Hydra, tone knob all the way down, neck pickup, clean amp, lowpass

It's probably a guitar VSTi. It usually doesn't sound that robotic when a human plays. Try something like Amplesound AmpleGuitar SC (or AmpleGuitar PF for a bit warmer sound) on the neck pickup. I think they have built-in amp simulations, so just choose any clean Fender-type amp and dial it in to taste.

I could get the same sound on any of my real guitars within a minute whereas a VSTi guitar would take a long time. It's all about feel and touch and changing the volume/tone controls on the guitar (the amp type doesn't even matter). Your sample is the perfect illustration of why VSTi guitar instruments are still nowhere near replacing a real guitar player - they work for certain things, maybe picking chorused chords, but not for anything that requires any kind of feel. Not dissing guitar plugins, just pointing out how they often still can't do the simplest of things.

IMHO, the robotic sound comes from using it as a sample.
