got the 8" and love them!! definitly a lot better than krk rockits or the so... they have a big, nice sound (maybe too nice, so more genelec style and less yamaha ns10 style) awesome stereo image and depth, supernice detail, well balanced.
I compared them to some others on the price range and especially on vocals they sound very natural while with the others you could always hear that the sound was reproduced by some materials. I believe there are monitors that could sound more natural, but I think not for this price *yes*

Recessed mid range means your mixes will have pronounced mids and accentuated lows and highs mean your mixes will suffer from lack of lows and highs. But these seem to be good speakers to listen to your music on. Hi-end Hi-Fi speakers, but not monitors. Monitors tell it like it is. ;)

depends. kind of a standard studio setup is big genelecs to produce on, hear the sounds in their purity without too much color and really feel the bass. and yamaha ns10 or auratones as secondary speakers for balancing volumes and frequences. the monkeys let you dip/rise the highs and lows by 6db if you need to...

A lot of people seemd to like and praise them. They're definitely better than the KRK Rokits and M-audio BX series.
Anyway, i don't care too much about their performance because i don't own them, i own right now Esi Aktiv 08 but next week my new monitors (3way Eve Audio SC307, which are a lot better) will arrive, but anyway, that video is funny when you realize these "bananas" are one of the most abstract-named studio monitors.(along with the SE Eggs or other similar "organic" stuff  )
