New here.. so excuse me if I categorized this thread wrong.

I’ve been using UAD Luna pretty much since it came out, I like a lot of the features as well as how easy the workflow is, lately I feel like it’s becoming more CPU intensive.

Can someone who has used Luna, recommend another Daw with a similar workflow. I know that I may have to leave analog summing behind too, but I just want something that runs without a hiccup.

cpu usage is at like 20% meanwhile Render lives in the red. Specs shouldn’t be the problem but listed below.

    Mac Pro 6,1
    Xeon 12 core @2.7
    128Gb ram
    2Tb Samsung 970 evo plus (running @ 1400mbps)
    D500
    eGPU- rx 6900 xt oc

It's a Garbage Can (cylinder) Mac with Intel Xeon, so it can probably run anything from around Mojave, up until current. The only real impact of any difference is which version of Logic you can run. 10.5 should not be any problem because a 6.1 Mac will have a Metal Compliant GPU in it. After that it can be anything up to current Logic, but really 10.5 is the most important version update because it has a lot of changes and significant upgrades. 10.6 is just boring stuff mostly. 10.7 adds Dolby Atmos and not much else worth worrying about.

You could run Cubase Pro or Nuendo if you wanted to. Reaper, Ableton, Bitwig, or FL also. Or Protools should you not mind paying for it and having less available plugins.

I am not assuming Cubase+Nuendo will continue to be released as they have been "forever". I'd rather not have the possibility of any work being locked up and held hostage for payment buying Cubase.

re: Analog summing via UAD/Luna; if that remains a concern you can always just bounce stems from Logic or other, and load them into Luna for a final Mixing step. They claim it is better than Waves NLS, and maybe it is (more than likely). But some users do everything in Logic and then bring it into Cubase as stems, because of the Control Room features for mixing.

@clone I’m looking more for ease of use and editing specifically for VOX tracking and editing. I’ve tried logic, and don’t get me wrong it’s decent for sure.
