Because of the need for more grooves from users of BFD3, I decided to share my personal
MIDI conversion along with the mapping files used. Done on Windows but, should work
    with Mac as well.

The archive contains all the backup files from last year:
    Converted MIDI
    Addictive Drums 1.57
    EZdrummer 2
    Superior Drummer 2
(the default folder for BFD3 is C:\Users\UserName\Documents\FXpansion\BFD3)

Also, there are some presets and kits I was experimenting with that require most of the earlier
    BFD catalog (use or ignore).

For those curious about MIDI conversion in BFD3, studying what was done may help
with what you can do inside BFD3. If time permits, I will do a detailed tutorial on
importing and converting MIDI in BFD3 later this year if not sooner.

the easiest way are buying and using Toontrack EZPlayer Pro , it also can convert those midi direcrtly into BFD3 Maps and after you could create BFD Palettes files , without the needs to creating Map files for every Drum Software .

Supposedly so, but, this is not how it really works. EZplayer does not always translate properly. Dropping notes, playing notes in the wrong position and etc... This happens even with Toontrack to Toontrack translation.

Even using the keymap layouts from each product requires adjusment after the fact.

MidiFileMapper from Mark Heath is where I started in the conversion process with EZD, SD2 & AD. BFD3 was a total nightmare
until I figured out how to use the internal conversion system with key map files.

To check and modify for incorrect positions I use SD2 for playback of all SD2 and EZD, EZD2 midi while creating maps
in MidiFileMapper and BFD3. Once you have a Toontrack drum sound library loaded you can check each kit peice for
MIDI note assignments. I have been able to convert between all three formats using this method with good results
    so far.

If Manufacturers stuck with one of the MIDI standards life would be much easier in regards.

    Just my point of view...

    Tiny bit late on this..
Any chance you still have it and might do a reupload? Would be super appreciated. I have been thinking about how to do this for so long and never yet found the time and energy to dig deep enough to get my head around it.

I've gotta tell you Quad I'm surely happy to have read this post today as I love BFD3 the best out of all the drum emulators. It's clearly the most realistic! I'd love to learn how to convert Grooves to BFD3.
And I'd be willing to share whatever I can.
Ok I see this is a very old post.... Damn it MAN!

Someone re-bundled my presets into a large collection that was posted on the sister site. Also remember seeing it pop up in a Google search for BFD Drums.

When I woke up this morning (Monday July 23), I was actually wondering if anyone was still using or interested in BFD.

I am still using it due to it's RAW sound :)

even though their keyMAP is totally confusing .. the GM Map not even the right one, but I really like it's RAW sound, and some of the grooves are "more human" than others ..

All of the developers seem to have their own spin of general MIDI. They usually call it "Extended MIDI" but, that is also their own type. Not the standard. Both partially work leaving you to remap the rest that don not.
