I don't know if it is the same on mac, but on windows it helped to purge the stage area path once in settings when I had trouble updating diamond 4

I tried purge as well. Only in vain. Not sure if it is even compatible with Mac M1. I mean, their website certainly says so but this... I don't know. Only if anybody using El Rey on Native Mac Arm (M1 or M2) can confirm it works natively, it'd be great.

El Rey 2 working on my m2 mac, AAX.
AA can be quite a pain, but try to completely purge, uninstall and redownload install to see if may work a second time.

Umm thank you for confirmation but there were reports mainly about AA and Logic Pro. I wish a logic user with m1, can confirm if El Rey 2 is working fine native. I'll modify my post title to be more precise.

In that thread I linked, there was some discussion about why AA does not code things for Rosetta; latency, etc. To me, the implication of that *should* mean this plugin has been tested to work in Logic natively. Maybe their user base numbers are a little skewed, but Mac users of Logic typically far outnumber those using Protools. It would be odd to say something works on Mac, and then not have it work in Logic, of all DAWs.

The symptoms you have described, such as no audio/silent channels; really sounds like an strange Authorization Failure to me. Because you were even able to open the plugin, that means that it has passed validation in AUValTool at Logic startup. Although, as I am sure you know; AUValTool will normally show the plugin as "Crashed" when Validation fails. With other scenarios, you would not be able to see the plugin inside your Logic Plugin Manager.

If I was having this problem; I would also do some of the usual things that can "fix" problem plugins; like using Permissions Reset or BatChmod to check if it is a User Permissions related problem caused by either AA N4, or the plugin.
I would Codesign any of the related files, just to also rule that out. If you have BlueCat Patchwork, I would try loading the plugin as a VST3 instance instead of an AU.

If all else fails; I would open a support ticket, post in that thread, and maybe even send a PM if you can identify a Mac user who supposedly has this thing working. They probably have Logic installed anyway. A poster or two from AA seem to be following the thread and replying.

Hey can you please tell me how can I reset the permissions and of what? I've tried reauthorising it a zillion times and it is done. Just can't get it working on logic natively.

I don't use AA stuff, but with any other dev I would check the permissions for N4, the Plugin, and any related Content it might be trying to open. It's almost like a Cross Application action from a plugin which is authorized and permissions are OK; but then it attempts to load additional file/code that is not. If you grant Everyone full access/permissions to the files, it can often either work or give you more hints about what isn't working. You can return the permissions to default, if it does not help.

Easy, just contact Acustica support! lol. I'd be so tempted to apply to be a sales person for that company. just show a 1300 page gearspace forum and say "people STILL use our stuff! if that doesn't convince you Volterra tech sounds great nothing will!"

also Im sorry I can't help, and I think what you're doing is is ultimately less of a headache than actually contacting their support, who at least in my limited experience were impressively dismissive.
acustica is a pet peeve of mine, because as far as I can tell from the safety of my armchair its mostly held back because of company issues not the tech.

You're welcome, it's about all I can think of and cannot test from my 5.1 Cheesegrater. lol. If none of that stuff works, I would also lean towards the plugin not being as compatible as they have on their website.

Did not work. Might I ask, do you need Nebula installed for El Rey to work? El Rey 2 is my first plugin I'm installing from AA. Do let me know. Thanks.

I don't see where you do. You need Aquarius Desktop Application, but it doesn't mention anything else. This company's manuals are not very helpful. Who needs twenty pages of testimonials in a manual only to get a link to another document that has the full install instructions.

I think this is only scratching the surface of the problems people often complain about. Those GS threads are funny, but probably not after you have paid for things.

Nope, El Rey belongs to their Aqua line and is independent from Nebula.

If you have this plugin firewalled in, that could absolutely cause an authentication problem. You need both the AA Aquarius application, and the plugin able to send/receive data. Create rules to allow both of them in your firewall application ruleset.

I'll try to stay on topic (and as I'm a windows user Im useless) but acustica is almost one of the worse vst companies to me because I like actually care about the product, the core technology I 100% believe is ultimately worth using. like the whole waves subscription thing was stupid but I didn't actually care cause waves is boring AF to me. acustica however, and the ability to recreate electronic components with the Volterra math magic shit is actually impressive. it actually sounds "better" to me like almost every time compared to equivalent vsts. (don't forget to duplicate instances to run dual mono because nebula only applies harmonics from the mid/center!)

I don't get why, besides its hard or legal, I mean I really don't understand- why another better company hasn't made another plugin like it using Volterra math. it's used for ultrasound technology and stuff, I doubt Acustica has some mathmatical function copyrighted. I don't see how it'd be different than the multiple IR reverb plugins? uhhh anyway keep up the good fight Nehal to get back on subject lol.
