Windows says that certificate was imported successfully but the R2R test fails. The certificate is indeed imported and found at Intermediate Certification Authorities. Is it there where it should be imported?

No, it needs to be installed in "Trusted Root Certification Authorities".

12.0.40 works BETTER than legit and no feckin dongles or license check garbage to slow it down. There's no earthly reason to update this other than to frustrate yourself...

    People,
I thought about giving you this little advice, that can be useful while uninstalling or re-installing an app such as cubase.
I am sure it can be the source of many issues, for many people.

    The prefetch function, on windows.
Anytime we install an app, using a .exe or msi, windows automatically creates a copy of that file, i think, in c:\windows\prefetch...

The goal is, if windows detects a problem with a particular app, that doesn't want to work, or the main .exe file gets deleted by the user, the file gets corrupted, etc etc,
    For example, cubase.exe,
Windows will go to the prefetch folder, and normally, there will be a cubase.exe.pf file... and if will grab that .pf file, and copy it back to the main cubase folder. In other words, it will replace the broken, or missing cubase.exe file !

You already see where there could be a problem, with the prefetch system...
One of the issues could be:
For example, imagine we had a particular legit app installed on our system, version 8.5, that works perfectly. Let's call it 'superapp'.
The main .exe is called 'superapp.exe'. During the first installation, a 'superapp.pf' prefetch file was created, in the windows\prefetch folder.
Now, we download a v.r or r2r version, the version 9.0.0, we try to install it, but for some reasons, something went wrong during the install process.
Seeing that the app is not working, windows could well go to the prefetch folder, grab the 'superapp.exe.pf' file, and copy it to the install folder.
You delete everything... you clean up the registry... but for some reasons, that .exe file from the legit installation, that got 'prefetched', might keep on messing with windows... your brain... your patience... and your precious time.

So yeah, if you have a, say, win 11, and you upgraded it from win10, and you had installed dozens and dozens of plug-ins, full apps, vst instruments with a .exe standalone version (such as halion...arturia....,kontak...and many others, that can be played in standalone mode without a daw of vst host) , you would be SURPRISED to see the insane amount of those .pf prefetched files, in the prefect folder :)

Of course, the c:\windows\prefetch folder requires full admin rights to access, or even view/ read its content.

You could try to install a simple app, like the freeware notepad++.... and after the install, by magic, a brand new notepad++.exe.pf file will appear, in the windows\prefetch folder.

If this info can help one or two members out, i will already be happy :)

    What’s new?
June 28, 2023 – The Cubase 12.0.70 maintenance update is now available. The main purpose of this maintenance update is the support of the improvements in the VST 3 SDK for plug-in developers. In addition to this, we integrated some fixes for the track import and the MIDI Remote areas, and added support for the Spatial Connect plug-in by our friends from Dear Reality.

The update is immediately available for download via the Steinberg Download Assistant.

We have improved the following features and functionality
    VST 3

Support of the new plug-in replacement process of the VST SDK 3.7.8 has been added.

    Track Import

Send FX connections are now working correctly when importing tracks via "Import Tracks from Project" and Track Archives.

MIDI output ports are now correctly set when importing tracks via "Import Tracks from Project" and Track Archives.

Routings to group channels are now properly working when importing tracks via "Import Tracks from Project" and track archives.

    MIDI Remote

Mappings for Device Surfaces which have "Label Fields" assigned for the "Piano Keys" item are now persistent.

    Stability

We have improved the stability when importing track archives using HALion Sonic with content without valid licenses.

We have improved the stability when drawing into the waveform image with multiple clips open in the Sample Editor.

    3rd party

Support for the Spatial Connect plug-in by Dear Reality has been added.

What happened with the PORTABLE V.R. version released on sister site yesterday?
I mean, what was the cause of its removal?

Some notes on the posting show what probably/maybe caused this. It is not Team VR work. Instead it borrows from it:

FEATURES OF THE LIBERCOOL PORTABLE VERSION:
    1. No additional installations are required. The patch is applied automatically or through manual activation with just two clicks, by applying the Activation Manager Unlocker b6 patch from V.R. No further installations are needed unless the program fails to launch initially.

So, it was removed because it had built this portable version based on V.R. version and V.R. wasn't clever enough to come up with a safer solution than their original one. This portable seemed solving the problem many users had feared about that V.R. changes system files that for many seems troublesome.
So, what's the best for sister site's community? Following a general rule that is not always helpful/useful instead of appreciate that someone has spent time and effort to create a Portable version and was even so kind to share it with the community.

We are in the time again when cracker teams send a removal request? for what? 'cause of the unauthorized use of their free release in another free release?
    :wtf:

Ah one thing: As like any other daw out there Cubendo scans all plugins on first launch.
And thats a bit tricky, thats not well done by steinberg. More modern daws run them in some sandbox. so if one hangs the daw still continues scanning. So if it hangs on start removle all plugins from vst 3 and 2 folders, start Cubendo once. Does ist load? Great. Now add 25% of your plugins back into the folders and launch cubendo again. And so on until you got them all.
Problem is: While the plugin might just work fine in Cubendo, sometimes opening and closing hundrets of plugins within some seconds totally goes south. I blame it on Steinberg, not the plugin developers. Other daws scan my vst folders just fine.
And I'm a legit user, so its not even r2rs fault.

Cubase 12 Portable by LIBERCOOL has been released on sister site again, which indicates there may have been some bug in the first release and may have needed a fix.

    Edit:
I was wrong. The newly shared zip is identical with the previously withdrawn one.

I've recently installed Waves complete bundle patched by Team RET from sister site in an M1 MacBook pro, everything works in native mode with no system files modifications, no SIP disabled needed, no license errors..

    So, I was thinking...

Is it possible to port the R2R Silk emulator to Mac the same way team RET has ported the WavesLicenseEngine emulator from R2R windows version? I know they are different license systems but Im just thinking, maybe we only need is a patched version of:

    /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Activation Manager/license-engine-access.bundle/Contents/MacOS/license-engine-access

R2R silk emulator is very clean and minimal, you can even install side by side with other Steinberg licensed software and try new ones and then decide if you want to buy new license. Compared to V.R which is the only solution available for macOS.

I'm new on this forum, actually tried to install Nuendo 12 and Wavelab 12 VR on Macos Mojave and Monterey. I followed the instructions, disabled SIP from recovery mode. Need the programs for testing some audio hardware, no business here. The mac is a MacPro 6.1 "trashcan" 12 core/64GB RAM. Fresh install of Mac os in both cases with no other software, but I get always "license not found" and the apps won't open, Where am I wrong? There is any clue? Thanks everyone who want to help.

    What's new?
November 2, 2023 – We are very happy to announce the immediate availability of Cubase 13. You can learn about all the new features and improvements on the product pages. There are plenty of tutorials in which our Cubase product specialist Dom Sigalas explains the new functionality in detail and shows you little tricks that can make a big difference.
There are a couple of things to be noted, though, and this text serves to give you some information on known issues, discontinued features, the grace period, and more.

    Grace Period update
The Grace Period of Cubase 13 started on August 23, 2023. This means that anyone who has activated a Cubase version since then is eligible for a free update to Cubase 13. You can find details on the process of updating to Cubase 13 within the free Grace Periodin our Steinberg Helpcenter.

    New demo projects
There are two new demo projects available for download via the Steinberg Download Assistant. The first demo project was produced by the one and only Austin Hull and makes intensive use of the new plug-ins, including the VocalChain. If you want to learn how to get the most out of the new plug-ins in Cubase 13, you should check out his project. The second project was produced by Chris Nairn aka AZODi and features the excellent sample pack “Soulful RnB Vocals” by 91Vocals. Be sure not to miss out on this inspirational project!

    Hybrid CPU support
We have invested a lot of time and effort in optimizing and testing Cubase 13 for hybrid-architecture CPUs, and we are happy to offer full support for both Windows and Mac.

    Known Issues
On macOS only, some 3rd-party plug-in windows always open in the upper left area of the primary display, before moving to their actual positions. We will resolve this issue with the next maintenance update.

On Windows only, unusual graphical artifacts may appear on the user interface under certain circumstances. We will resolve this issue with the next maintenance update.

    Discontinued features and services
    Project Browser

The Project Browser will be discontinued, as of Cubase 13. Originally designed as a debugging tool for our development, from a technical point of view, it was no longer feasible to maintain the Project Browser with its current design, which is why we decided to invest the time and resources in more popular features of the application.

    VST Transit
After many years of putting our heart, soul, and hard work into VST Transit, as announced earlier this year, this technology will no longer be available. VST Transit is a great technology that brought musicians and producers together. However, it was extremely time-consuming to support and maintain, in order to provide the consistently high level of service that our customers expect and deserve, and unfortunately, the technology reached a point when it was no longer economically viable. We believe in the concept and will assess ways to provide a similar service to our customers again in the future. If you have questions regarding the discontinuation of VST Transit, please contact the Steinberg Support team.

    Cubase 13 R2R works.
BUT all others Steinberg products (Halion, Groove Agent ...) gives me "no licence found".

I tried to "root certificate" again.
Cubase 13 still works ... and plugins not.
    Their standalone too.

    What did i missed ?

    PS : from another website
    Copy file "licence-engine-access.dll" from c:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\TEAM R2R \ to 'c:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\Activation Manager\"

I created this folder before copy ... and now all works right
Don't understand WHY R2R didn't included this step.
